That tweed floor insulation for sure has too be replaced, once its wet its not reusable,as it will mold too high heaven, and even though the carpet is nylon, if it were my truck they would danm sure be replacing that also.

They told me today it is the frame for the windshield that was not built right and they will replace it . Couple more days so they say. It's day 23 and not finished yet. Was still in numerous pieces at 3 pm when I looked it over. I marked the insulation padding under the glove box with permanent paint marker so I can see if it's replaced or not.

What state are you in? There are a number of attorneys that deal specifically with issues like this. I would consult an attorney and see what options are available to you before accepting the fix.

Here is what the State of Tennessee law states regarding this matter. Remember that regardless of what Toyota corporate says, your local dealer must follow the laws of your state:

Tennessee Lemon Law 55-24-203: Replacement or repair of vehicles.

Refunds – Refinancing agreements – Defenses.

    (a) The manufacturer must replace the motor vehicle with a comparable motor vehicle or accept return of the vehicle from the consumer and refund to the consumer the full purchase price if:

    (1) The nonconformity, defect or condition substantially impairs the motor vehicle; and

    (2) The manufacturer, its agent or authorized dealer is unable to conform the motor vehicle to any applicable express warranty after a reasonable number of attempts

Make for damn sure they give you the certified platinum warranty for 8 years or 125k. I got 7 yrs or 100k given to me, plus some accessory credit for some crap I went through with mine. That would be the least I would take.

Wow, I can’t believe how much this sucks. I hope you didn’t give them 10’s on the customer satisfaction survey.

So day 25 local toyota calls at 519 pm est to say hey your truck is ready. Ok I'm on my way. Toyota says oh no we close in 10 minutes so it will have to be tomorrow before you pick it up and BTW we are missing a floor mat clip and it won't be here for a week or so and you will need to bring it back then and we will is tall it for you. Lol talk about a crap sandwich.
I asked if they replaced all the padding and insulation and I'm told it's all one piece with the carpet and yes it is replaced . It's not all one piece and I marked the padding with fluorescent marker so we will see.

It's not been pleasant and I can assure you I will not buy another toyota in the near future. Seems they called me today to stop the 30 day clock tennessee has for lemon law replacement .

That's some BS. The job isn't complete (floor mat clip). I wouldn't accept the truck back until that's done.

The truck would not considered “done” if it was missing a floor clip leaving the factory what difference does that make here? GL OP

Yup, especially since it is a regular service interval safety inspection item. It was smart of him to also mark the padding with fluorescent paint, I wouldnt have thought of that. Good to remember for other repairs as well.

Well I'm going in the morning to nicely tell the service manager that a. I need my window tint put back after they broke my windshield , b , install new mat clip and c , we will be pulling the carpet back and inspecting the padding for my paint marker ( think I got the idea for that from the replies in this thread)
I was originally told by toyota service guy that after body shop was done toypta needed 3 days to complete the re install of everything . bodyshop sent the truck back at noon today. Corporate must have went bat crap crazy as this was drawing near to the 30 day mark. It feels like a real dick move to refuse truck over the mat clip but it was factory equipment afterall
