Though a lot folks said the 3rd gen. seats were so much better than 2nd gen, when I bought my 2017 Pro the seat felt the same as my 2015,so that's not the case at all,2017 has the same tupperware interior, just glorified a bit.

Even though the seats looked almost identical, my 2008 had way more comforable seats than my 2015, but my 2017 seats feel better than the 2015 did though.

A 20 to 30 minute test drive isn’t going to tell you much about long term seat comfort.

Haven't snagged em yet for my new rig, but good 'ol sheepskin covers have always done the trick for me.

I didn't want a Tundra; I have to park in tight spaces a lot and I don't have a need for a heavy truck. I'm getting used to it, though. I'm beginning to enjoy its cozy, womb-like embrace.

This is why any new purchase is a roll of the dice.

i agree to an extent for sure. I knew my seats were not great when I test drove and still really wanted the truck and figured surely I could figure something that would make them work out. We will see but if I don't it is on me for sure and I do not blame Toyota because I knew when I drove it. I do think it still makes no since as many that like this truck they couldn't make the seats much better and adjustable. Such a huge thing is comfortable while in it driving.

I test drove an 18 TRD Pro and it felt like a bench. Absolutely uncomfortable. I ended up getting a 17 TRD Pro that was used and the seats are MUCH better. Well, comfort anyway. I still hate, and will always hate leather. Why can't I get freaking cloth.

The seats in my FJ were some of the best, I could go for 24+ hour drives straight without any pain in that.

Sorry, that would have helped! 21K miles. I don't really have any issues with them now, and they're much more comfortable than the '18. I'm guessing it's just due to use and wearing them in.

Its not glamorous but i bought a small blanket that i can move around for the seat. I recently drove from North Carolina to Colorado, bought this in Tennessee and it helped a TON the rest of the trip.
Are there washers or something you can put under seat to lift it?

yes. I got 3 different sets. They have the 1 in then you can get an adjustable 1 1/2 up to a 2 1/2 in set. I got two sets of the 1 in then wanted to try to adjustable 2 1/2 in set. I took all them out for now back to stock and think that may be where I keep it. Id suggest the 1 in set is what you should get to try. You can get from 4 crawler off road. I think with shipping it was like $20 for 1 set for drivers side seat including shipping

You could always rent one for a weekend if you can't tell on a test drive. In my case there was no other game in town. Not going GM or Nissan and the Ranger wasn't built yet. Still not sure about that one with the 4 cyl option only.

Loved my gen 2 and definitely NOT going full sized truck. Nothing left but another Taco. Never even drove my 3rd Gen before buying.

I put black and gray Bartact seat covers over my 18 TRDS. Helped quite a bit. Just did a 4 hr drive back from camping today. Still need some breaking in but better than they were. Plus waterproof.

I didn't return it but also ordered the other one. Just got it and will say it is perfect size for sure. I haven't cut out the back area of it yet but will use like this for short time. I am going to mix it up using it and going with nothing to get the seats in general to hopefully just get more broke down and softer for id much rather use nothing

Is the material on the Bartacts pretty rough? Im concerned about wearing on my clothes. Also, do the rear seat covers have molle webbing on them?

In my option most asian car manufacturers don't have great seats for sitting (yes some do). My seats are bad and I use a Foam Wedge I got from my Chiro and it tilts you up and forward. So you don't feel like your sinking in the seat.

I have a bad back so that wedge combined with a back pillow gives great posture and comfort.

Not rough at all. Im assuming you are thinking like a canvas... not the case. Almost a neoprene/padded material.

And yes. Front seats have molle and zippered pickets on back and rear seats (for my DC) have molle as well.
