Agreed...they are bright as shit. Had I known about the KCs I would have bought them. I personally do not like how the Rigids look installed with the front plate. (Excluding the Pro's Rigid lights)

I road trip a bunch and never understood the purpose of amber fog light until coming on this forum.
When I replace my fogs, I am going to install amber. It is supposed to cut through white out situations and help with visibility (per OP and others.)

Pictures from last road trip: blinding rain on I40 heading into OKC. We eventually caught up to a semi and followed behind it. Pretty scary situation because you dont want to keep going and run into something or drive too slow and get run into.

Second picture, Mt. Magazine in Arkansas. Fog was super thick and visibility was about 10 feet max. Same situation. Dont want to run into something or get run into. Definitely will get amber to help see and be seen

edit: first pic was taken by passenger

Sorry to thread jack but @crashnburn80 been meaning to ask you aprox how far away from your garage were you when you did your fog test? I think I need to adjust my Rigids a bit lower. Currently the peak cut off is slightly above my low beam and it just doesnt feel right. I was going to pull up to a wall and adjust based on your review thread cut offs.

I rack tested mine, so they are not on the truck yet as there is just way too many lights to truck mount for testing. Distance was 18’ but they were not aimed as you would want to aim them on the truck.

What I usually recommend is to swap one at a time and aim the new one to match the height of the stock one.

I can get you some stock measurements to use later this evening.

No biggie dont need you do any extra work, I can easily find a good sized wall on flat ground and tape off current beam cut off points and adjust accordingly.

@Taylor@KC HiLiTES I finally got my KC 501s a few days ago and I went through installing them. I called the KC support line to figure out which one is driver side and which one is passenger side as both pods have markings for both driver and passenger. He told me that the longer tabs of each pod should face inward (as shown in the photo below). However, when I positioned them as such, the pods would not be aligned with the front slots. So I reversed them with the shorter tabs facing inward and they fit right in. I just want to make sure I installed them correctly. Thanks.

All done. Who are the people who can finish it in 10 minutes. It took me about an hour and a half with a lot of swearing.

How do you adjust them? Is there any standard the bean height should be at?

    If you insist...

First three are distance shots showing H9 headlights, lightlights plus fog lights, and fog lights alone (includes DRL because...Toyota).

Do you have a gap of a few millimetres on the outside edge, between the lens surface and the plane of the opening? I am wondering if I have the driver and passenger lights reversed. There was an aluminum-coloured fastener near the word "driver" or "passenger" and I thought that was how you tell.

Oh, and that guy who posted on Youtube about how you access the fog light by removing the fender liner should take his video down. The first light took me half an hour and I scraped the hell out of my forearm. When I clued into doing the second one from the top it took 5 minutes.

I did not see any colored fastener on mine. Were you able to install them with the long tabs facing inward or outward? Yes, I also have that gap you mentioned. I did not open the fender liners. I have thin arms so I was able to scoop them from the top.

I opened both fender flares... probably what took so long and led to all of the swearing. I tried reaching in from the top but guess I just have fat arms.
