Yes, I’m looking at it now and it appears the SE Toyota Distributors near Commerce , Georgia may have been the place where the optional bed lights and mudguards were installed pre-delivery.

Well, it’s all over and done now. Spent about three hours at the dealer yesterday, they told me that the latest directive from Toyota is to have the LEDs wired just as I received them, ( especially since I had no cargo light to begin with) mine was hard wired with no cargo light switch and they would go off after 15 seconds when the doors are closed or immediately when locked. However, they will remain on for all eternity if you leave the doors open and the LEDs will NOT shut off after the 20 minute programmed method for the dome and courtesy light! I showed the photos that were on these posts with cargo light switches and they said that was because there “are so many other models and I different truck configurations”, etc etc. The parts gal got to talking $600 + to use a switch
Well, regardless, I told them I need a way to shut them off with my doors opened at camp site or when simply cleaning it. So they went in and ran a wire to the overhead switch where you shut off the interior lights. Now if I want to open the doors and not have the LEDs continuously lit, I just move the switch to the “shut off” lights position and all the LEDs and interior lights are off. If I have the switch in the other on position and don’t close the doors, the 20 minute default will shut off ONLY the interior lights and the LEDs will stay illuminated until the cows come home, this is how it will be, I can live with it. Thanks for the comments and assistance everyone provided and against, I’m glad it’s done and over with. I guess there will be more of these same concerns popping up in the future.

Seems a little klunky but I guess it is functional for what you want/need.

Maybe later on, I’m totally non-electrical and will see how this modification works out over time. I would burn it it to the ground if I tried! One of my in-laws is an electrical guy and maybe he can figure it out. For now, I can live with it and thanks for the suggestion. If I do end up getting it “fixed” I’ll be sure to post the how we did it.
