I have the trial with my new purchase and to be honest, I listen to it exclusively. The commercial radio stations just don't appeal to me. Now I have songs on my phone that I will play using Car Play once the Sirius trial ends, although I see they sent my wife a renewal offer for $5/month, which she took advantage of.

    It's 130 bucks. On sale from 160.

IF. IF toyota made the center console port the data port for car play, maybe I would consider spending that much money on it. But I'd still have it hanging out in my center stack. Meh.

OH it also only works with one platform. If you go to android....you need another one (those are a bit cheaper, only in the $100 range....)

Good luck getting that same truck for "$35-36k", price has gone up significantly, MSRP on a fully loaded TRD OR / Sport is $44-46, you are not getting a $10k discount on a Tacoma. Sorry not happening. Was like pulling teeth and months, to get mine at $39k ($44.8k MSRP) w/out any rebates, 10-15% off MSRP, can't compare your 4Runner to a Tacoma as far as pricing and discounts. And he already said he didn't pay MSRP.

Didn't use it for years. Then I discovered I could get it for $5 a month with a little negotiation so now I have it in 3 vehicles. Even the negotiation has changed over the years. It used to be $5 a month for 5 months, then 6 months, last time I called they gave me $5 a month for a year.

Of course everyone's situation is different but I have it for 3 reasons. First, I like it for traveling by car. Second, I live in a small town with almost no FM reception. Last, it's $5 a month.

I suggested to Sirius/XM that if they overtly offered their service for $5 a month to everyone, without negotiation, they would increase their membership exponentially. They thanked me and promptly ignored the suggestion.

So you're telling me you got your truck new for 28K or less? Calling BS on that... or that didn't include TTL.

2019 might as well have been a hundred years ago as far as the new car market goes. Right now, for any new vehicle that is reasonably desirable, you are looking at MSRP if you can even find one on the lot or inbound.

It depends what package you get. If you max it out, it’s up there. People need to stop just looking at the price and need to see what’s included in that price.

I'd be happy enough if Carplay consistently connected and functioned, at all, much less wirelessly.

My carplay has been funky recently. Not using an apple cable so that may be the case but it seemed to be fairly consistent up until the last iPhone update. Would love to have wireless carplay too... could utilize the wireless charging pad which has become the place to stash sunglasses. Another useless feature...
