New 2021 Owner with gas cap Question

I just bought an SR5 Sport package Army green. I am starting to go around the vehicle and learn it. I noticed that it does not have a locking gas cap door. I am not too worried about this, but what is the work around in case I start to get gas siphoned.

I know you guys are going to say, "locking gas cap", but are there any other aftermarket easy solutions? Or since this is my first time owning a truck, are gas cap doors unable to lock due to them being on the bed which is separate from the cab?

You're right. Locking gas cap.

There's no reason the doors can't lock that I can see, Toyota just chooses not to.

But even a locking door is easy to defeat.

But we may just drill a hole in your gas tank and fill a bucket, right after we get your converter removed.

 

Wow, I completely forgot about converter theft. Is there anything out there to cover the converter, or is it just a matter of time, if at all? If I do the locking gas cap, which almost seems futile, are there any brands that won't work well with a new truck? I can't remember is all gas caps are "made the same"?

 

Skid plates make it harder.

Another option is to attempt to stay out of places where these problems are more likely to occur.

If you have to be in those places, maybe a beater like Swayze used in Roadhouse would be a good idea.
