What, please share, I have never heard of ceramic coating the undercarriage and I have extensive knowledge and application of them. My skeptical bear sense is tingling especially at $429 you claim, sh*t any half reputable installer and product is gonna be closer to $1000 just for the paint/body/wheels, I know for a fact Ceramic Pro sets pricing for their installers and that price is a far cry from what they set for their entry level package, interesting.

N.W. PA. I have a 2004 Legacy which I have sprayed with Fluid film every other year and in between I use a touch up can in high wash off areas. If you know this model of Subaru (98-04) and how they rust around the rear fender wells you'd be shocked at it's rust free condition.

My plan is to basically garage it and use one of my other work trucks in winters unless we are taking a camping trip somewhere (south) and would need it.
Then, undercarriage wash and put it back away.
Mine won't hardly see any winter miles. Vehicles disintegrate before your eyes here.

I get my truck Krown’d but don’t do this....what exactly are you doing? Is the fear that the rubber trim will deteriorate after years of applying Krown? Is that from it being sprayed inside the doors?

The total vehicle was around $1600. Just the undercarriage was $429. The Ceramic Pro Silver Package was $999 and I had to do a slight paint correction before they applied the coating witch was another $200 or so.

That pricing sounds more consistent with CP and yes you always want to correct prior to application of any coating. I’m curious how they ceramic coated the entire undercarriage I’ve never heard of this and the work / feasibility of this just makes me skeptical and as mentioned I have experience with lots of coatings, applications and a friend who owns the largest CP shop in AZ.

I did fluid film on my truck about a month ago when we had a warm weekend. Being it's a 2020, and never seen winter yet I took it to the car wash and washed under it as best I could. Put each end on ramps and got all the places I could. Then last weekend after Seen more posts about this I realized I missed inside the rocker panels and door bottoms. So I used the can I had left and did all that. Got a spare can at lowes to finish and have some left to spray in the wheel wells if needed mid winter. Never did this to a vehicle before but it wasn't hard.

I did find out a local place that does LineX added Krown service after I did most of the FF treatment.
I'm going to have to think about if i want to use them next fall or go with more FF or WW. They said $149 to do the truck that don't seem so bad.

Krown charges differently based on your type of vehicle. For our Tacomas the price is $150(access or double cab). If you have an older true 2-door Tacoma I think it’s $10 cheaper?

Yes...that buys A LOT of cans of Fluid Film or whatever, but it looked to be a messy process and the Krown guy spent a good 2 hours going over every inch of the undercarriage and interior panels. Also, check Krown’s website for a $10 off coupon. It saved me a little extra!

How has it been holding up? I hear mixed reviews and want to make the right choice.

Did they actually ceramic the undercarriage or did they (1) ceramic the truck and (2) put a rubberized coating on the undercarriage of the truck? Ziebart had an option similar to that, but I just went with the undercoat. I’d rather have a dedicated, local detail shop do the ceramic.

It was a dedicated heavy duty ceramic coating (Ceramic Pro Strong https://ceramic-pro.com/en/shop/product-line/product/strong/), under the vehicle, not a rubberized undercoating (from everything I've read, you wanna stay away from those rubberized coatings since if they aren't applied perfectly they'll have areas where it'll trap water/salt/etc. making it worse than not having a coating at all).

Ill put in another vote here for Wool Wax. spent a little upfront, bought the Pro Spray gun and a gallon can of the stuff and was able to do a really thorough job all over the truck. Seemed much more cost effective to buy the gallon ($40ish bucks) than trying to use aerosol cans year after year. had it on for about a month now and looks like its holding up perfectly so far. Having used Fluid Film in the gallon can and the Wool Wax, the Wool wax was much easier to work with, poured much easier.

I've had no issues with gaskets swelling or deforming. The one thing I will say is that since they spray the engine bay also that anytime you open the hood you will be getting Krown and dirt on your hands.... other than that so far so good.

I’m not the best person to ask as I just got the initial treatment a couple days ago. I’m still in the ‘dripping everywhere’ phase. That is no joke! I will say that I’m totally satisfied thus far, but time will tell.

I will check everything underneath again in the Spring. I plan on just washing the body panels and wheels/tires for the time being and maybe taking a hose to the undercarriage if I encounter some mud. I don’t want to wash away all the precious oil! The Krown place I went to even gave me a can of their formula to touch-up as needed(YMMV).

I've ran fluid film on several trucks for years and never had any issues with swelling of rubbers, and I go to town, odd but anyways, my 15 and 17 after a few NJ winters looked new underneath, there's a reason so many of us here recommend and use it.

Hi Guys. Anyone know or have any experience with this type of coating? Looks great for long-term protection. Let me know what you think.

Only 7k miles. Do your bolts. Do them often.

Use a metal brush to get most of the rust off. Coat it.

Look at this picture often and cry inside.
