Yes sir! Enjoy the hell outta that truck and always remember: it’s a truck! It’s a Pro, and sure as hell has some refinement compared to other trim levels but it’ll always be just a pinch rough around the edges - even comparing to a Civic SI!

the fun I’ve had in mine has far outweighed little quirks here and there once I got to know it

I have a story for you: have a 2021 OR and have had that "electronic buzz" and vibration when applying the brakes (every other press) since I drove it off the lot brand new. I asked my service department twice about it and was told its normal and "I would trust my family to drive it". I happened to be at a dealer in Canada getting my oil changed and wanted to see what they would say. Service manager sat in my truck, listened to the "buzz", then tested a few of the 2023 ORs on their lot to see if they made the same noise (they didn't) and said "let's get you in to get it looked at, this doesn't sound normal". Upon inspection, advisor says "bad booster, we need to order a new one"....two weeks later it's in to get the new part. Drive it off the lot and the vibration/buzzing is 5x worse. Turn around, drop off..they say "let us keep it overnight, maybe an air bubble needs to work its way out of the lines"...I pick it up the next day and they tell me they bled the lines 3 times. Drive it home (slight buzz) but next morning upon starting its 10x worse. Back to the dealer. They keep it for two days...I picked it up yesterday and was told that they chased the issue for 5 hours before calling Toyota Tech. They were told the electronic buzz is normal for HYDRAULIC booster...verbatum from service manager "when we tested the ones on the lot, we didn't realize your truck was hydraulic and the ones we tested were vacuum...we just happened to have another truck come in that was hydraulic and it performs the same as yours, so we will eat the cost of the replacement". Wouldn't the tech have noticed that my truck was hydraulic and not vacuum? At any rate, the booster is new in my truck, and the vibration/noise is still there, but nowhere near as loud as before. Similar to what CVST said...I came from a 17 GMC Canyon (and many previous GM trucks) and going from quiet to a bunch of small noises can certainly make you think something isn't right! All good now and still love my OR :)

I had a very odd brake issue. I bought a new 2023 and it seemed to me like the brakes were not working as well as they should. But I chalked it up to just being normal for the truck. Since it was my first Tacoma I didn’t know better. After a couple of weeks I took it to the dealer for an unrelated issue. The dealer found that my rear brakes had been installed from the factory BACKWARDS. They reinstalled and the brakes have been great since. I can’t imagine how this kind of error could happen but if it happened to me it probably happened to others.

To close this off, it has gone away. The whirring was likely the brake booster, was very noticeable but after some time I think its just broken in and went away after a few weeks.

Don't mind that guy, look at his post history. He's a clueless hack who just repeats random info like a retarded parrot.

People like him are why forums in general are such trash, dumb people who know just enough to be dangerous..and nothing more.

His two moms didn't hug him enough

My 22 pro does the same thing ….took awhile to get used it. Especially since my daily driver 22 sr5 brakes feel completely different.

I can only say I own a 2020 trd pro there is no vacuum noise when applying the brakes. This is a vacuum booster leakage. WARRANTY FOR SURE

My main point was to point out the difference between the vacuum booost of the sr5 and electric boost on the Pro/Offroad, took some getting used to.

now, I do get a click followed by short vacuum sound when (I’m assuming here) the booster kicks in. ….Im coming up on the end of my bumper to bumper ….ill ask about it to be on the safe side. Haven’t been concerned about it though as me thinks it’s part of the abs anti roll control (crawl).
