This is a moot point now for this case since the wheels are sold, but in the interest of future discussions I'll post it anyway. A 285/50/20 on a 9" wheel will NOT necessarily rub like hell, and on the right 9" wheel will actually not rub at all. On this particular 9" wheel with 4.5" BS (-12), it might rub some on the flap and possibly slightly on the bumper but I would be surprised if it did hit the bumper.

I ran 285/60/18's (which are bigger than 285/50/20's) on 9" wheels with 0 offset on stock suspension and had only slight rubbing on the flaps and no rubbing on the bumper. After I removed the flaps I never rubbed anywhere, even at full flex off-road.

Fixed my post. I meant 285/50 as that is what was being discussed. My 285/55 was a typo.

This sums up what I was going to write. The 285 width isn't a big issue. The problem arises with the 33" hight (which many 285's are). The 285/60/18 and the 285/50/20 are only 32's.

    You'll want conical-seat (acorn) lugs, 12 x 1.5 thread and pitch
