    Hey everyone,

Just an intro. I am a soon to be 2017 Tacoma owner. I was able to get one of the first from my local dealer's allocation. They are telling me it should be built in mid August alongside their dealer loaner trucks they've ordered.

    Here are my specs:
    Sky silver TRD offroad DCSB
    Premium+Tech
    Flaps
    All-weathers

    Price: Invoice+$500.00

Not new to the Tacoma, ive had each generation so far.

Going to be a long next few months!

I am going to order the same one in the next two weeks. So you could not get it under invoice. I also understand that the 2017 has a price increase of around 300.00

$500 over invoice???? Not a good deal to me for a vehicle that has not even been built yet.

How is $500 over dealer invoice not a good deal for a second rendition of the new model that people are currently paying close to MSRP for?

Agreed. at the same time I don't regard that as a "bad" deal at all. I've read of hardly anyone getting invoice or less for one of these trucks.

I guess that is the key here. A high demand truck. I just spoke to my dealer and she is ready to order me a 2017, however she told me she does not have the pricing and no discounts will be offered. I told her no thanks I will just wait.

I got mine for $500 over invoice with no hassles and that was back when 3rd gens were first hitting the lot in early October.

Your dealer wont deal? that's lame.

I feel that deal was not bad then, and its still not bad now. Ill have the first consumer 17 my dealer gets and they were pretty willing to give me the 500 over without much hassle.

It's not bad. What's another $500 anyway when you're already spending 35K to 40K on a truck? Now just hope yours does not have any of the issues like mine and many others beleaguered little Tacos have

My Daddy always told me that a good deal is when both parties walk away happy. If the OP is satisfied with the deal, then leave it alone. The important thing is that he's getting another Tacoma. Hopefully your wallet is ready for the damage they do to it.

I will hope but there is no indication that there have been any assembly line modification as far as production goes. Of the tacomas I drove the only consistent issue was a gas pedal vibration at around 2-2,500rpm. I see how people could complain about the shifting but im coming from a TDI w/DSG which is constantly upshifting and has an almost unsafe lag from a stop-start situation.

I'm satisfied and very ready for a tornado to empty my wallet! My previous Tacomas were no different!

My Daddy always told me the devil is in the details. $500 over invoice means nothing to me until I see the line items of the invoice.

In general that is a good deal. A lot of people on the west coast paid MSRP.

I'm on board with that. With the amount of car deals I've done I learned to never put it past a dealer to "add" a line item or fudge what invoice may be. Based on the 2016 invoice my truck will cost ~$36k with the 500.00 over. I'm sticking to that number but realizing there will be a slight increase of the base price on the 2017. My sales manager is in agreement.

A good deal is region specific. Basic supply and demand. In the Northeast there are none on the lots. If you want to drive 6 or more hours you may get a better deal. I was so used to getting ridiculous deals on anything I drove. Had to accept that there were more buyers for my truck and the fact I got 2000 off MSRP when you factor in I got a loaded Sport with Predator steps, all weather mats, mud flaps, wheel locks, spare wheel lock, and bed mat for 38500. I feel fine with the deal. Love the truck. Oh and the dealer matched the price on TRD SEMA wheels and the lowest price I found on Internet for 265/70/17 C rated KO2 installed all in.

true...price increase is inevitable. Material costs go up, labor force (raises) go up, shipping costs go up, government regulations go up, etc............................
