Katie, I ordered the wrong switch. I wanted BLUE and ordered WHITE. Can you cancel the order and I will reorder with the correct switch? Or can you fix my order with the BLUE switch. I bought and installed my lock kit several weeks ago. I use it probably 10 to 15 times a day. I've had zero issues with it. IMO this is a must have, and the price was reasonable. Nice job KTJO 4x4. Thanks.

So with these New Rods, we are putting together a more well-rounded package that will reach more of our audience and have less inconvenience on our customer base. Each Kit will now come with 4 different Rod Lengths, at least until we narrow down which Rod Lengths it seems like everyone seems to be using. Then we can just run with that one or even two Rods. Second, we will be using the new additional Actuator that has been slightly modified for better production in hopes for those trucks that were having issues with the other actuator, that this actuator will in fact work for your truck. We have tested it out on one truck and it did respond to that truck when the first actuator did not respond to that truck, which is a huge plus. The only difference that you as a customer will need to do is twist the Rod when you receive it. It is not hard to do, but it is easier to ship flat and have the customer do it after figuring out which Rod He/She needs rather than doing all of the Rods. This is the process:







Out of the 4 Rod Kit Packet the smallest one is the most commonly used one with the previous Actuator the other 3 larger ones are optional adjustments. The new Actuator is slightly shorter, but when fully extended it is pretty equal in length. So play around and figure out which one you need for your truck. Hence why you are give the Rod Kit.

 

Hi Katie,

I have everything installed but it seems like the tailgate open actuator is not pulling enough to open the lock. I tried removing the rubber stoppers but it doesn't make a difference. Even if I close the latches with a screwdriver, it is not opening the latches.

Would you be able to supply me with the different rod lengths? I'm hoping one of them would solve my problem.

I am having the same problem. Seems like the actuator is not pulling all the way in to release the tailgate. I have shorten up the rod and that did not make a difference. The odd thing is it did work a couple of times but it will not open the tailgate on a consistent bases. When it did open it opened on the second click of the key fob, not on the 3rd click like it is supposed to. Anyone have any suggestions. I did check my options for the door unlock and they all all the same as suggested by dsim. I have a MT if that makes a difference.

 

Is there a how to manual for this install or maybe a video I can't find?

 

Try removing the little tailgate rubber stops on each side and see if it opens Like it’s supposed to .

 

The tailgate is opening now but on the second click. While driving today the tailgate opened. Kind of scary. I ended up locking the tailgate with the key.

 

I had to shave a 1/8 off the top of the bed rubbers to get mine to open all the time as designed . As for opening on its own I have never heard of this issue .

Try this . Go in the door settings and put the check mark on the Remote 2-press unlock setting and see if it moves it to the 3 clicks it opens .
