New 3rd Gen. Tacoma within 18 months

Looks like we will have a new Tacoma in less than 18 months:

Can't wait to see what Toyota has up their sleeves. Sounds like they may offer a Hybrid Tacoma....we'll see.

Based on this article it sounds like the Camry will be at ~18 (they mention thee redesigned vechiles in the next 18 months), so hopefully will have a new Tacoma in the spring.

I hope it's sweet because I'm ready to buy a new truck.

 

4-Runner front end... bleh ruined already.

 

I thought that at first when I saw pictures of the new 4Runner, however in person I think they look good!

 

Really? I think it looks nasty in a bad way. Especially compared to the 2nd gen Tacoma front.

 

Tacoma: A restyling and re-engineering of the small pickup is expected for the 2012 model year. The platform is linked with Prado, 4Runner and Hi-Lux in the rest of the world, with frames built in different widths for different markets.
Much of the styling seen in the 2010 4Runner will carry over to the Tacoma. A plan that the Tacoma would share Tundra component sets has been scratched because the beefier Tundra parts would cost too much on a compact-pickup budget. Expect model variants to decline on the new model.

Me too, but I wonder how it's gonna look on a pick-up. Sure hope they don't make it any bigger.

 

I dig my 2nd Gen! Plus no need to worry for 18 months, by that time we will have tube bumpers!
