You guys are reacting like everybody did when the 05 Tacoma came out...

    "eww gross"
    "it's too big"
    "it's ugly"

blah blah blah... I'm willing to bet that a lot of those people ended up buying an 05+... I say give it 6 months and all of you will change your minds...

Sheese I remember loving the 05's when they came out and rewinded the commercials on my Tivo and watching them twice!

I think that first advertising campaign with the bored guy whose life sucked then he got a Tacoma and went drifiting it down dirt roads and having a blast......That was an excellent ad campaign and I loved the styling from the get go.

The previous bodystyle just didnt look or drive like a truck that should cost 30 grand....The 05+ did and still does 5 years into it production cycle!

I think I see a manual 4x4 shifter. That would be sweet.

yeah that thing is pretty bad... Toyota is def moving away from what i like about them.

That sequoia they have is hideous. The 05+ tacos were ugly to me when i first saw them, but have grown on me. But i really dont see that bulky big bertha thing growing on me... its just too.. Unfunctional..

Honestly, I think the FJs are ugly as hell too.. and not ugly in a cool useful way, but ugly in a retarted-looking way.

Couldn't agree more. The Pilot is a nice alternative to a mini-van but boring as hell with zero personality. We need a totally different 4Runner...something much more rugged in appearance and performance.

^ That sounds good. I think we should wait until we see some better pics or see it in person before reserving final judgement on this new gen.

this is all great, but explain to me why they put it in a fragile, bloated, over-accessorized body? it doesnt make any sense, its designed to remain stock, and not do any real 4x4. all that plastic body molding will be ripped the hell off.

i understand the pussification of america has led to this, but is it too much to ask for just 1 rugged, all business vehicle?

Throw a Highlander in there too. Definitely hate it. Which is a shame cause I really like the current generation. Almost bought one in 07.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
It has that scrunched up front end and a tall windshield. If the Tacoma goes this direction then I'm keeping my '06 for a really long time. Also the c-pillar on that thing is huge. I wonder if visibility is as poor as on the FJ. I like the looks of the FJ. I have to say I'm not a fan of the current gen 4 Runner and this new one is a turn off.
My favorite is the pre 05 gen.
