New Member checking in- 2019 DCLB OR purchased 2/15/19, Assembled 1/19.

I have this issue (decel vibrations ~25-15mph, seemingly gotten worse with time- currently 1600mi), went by Toyota today and service writer confirmed it, scheduled a drop off for next Monday 7a. Provided techs/management with TSB 0023-18 and relevant info, and a link to this thread.

Fingers crossed this issue is resolved.

    Just a driver mod.
2019 SR5 DCSB purchased in March, also build date of 1/19 is doing the same. Hasn't been getting worse but it's definitely noticeable on decel and light braking 30-20mph range.

Damn that looks bad! 5 times with same issue, pretty sure that can qualify as a lemon man.

Sounds more like driveline vibration. I already had TSB0023 done after they confirmed both my axles and drums were out of spec. If that was your problem you would have pretty severe shuddering while breaking from 50 or 60 to 0. I’m not sure if the driveline TSB includes 2019s yet but I’m going to try and get it done. It is specifically for decel vibration from 30-10. My shuddering went away after they did the axle TSB but I’ve definitely still got some driveline issues. Frankly, I’m at the end of my patience. I love this truck and I’ve already put a bunch of money into stuff for it but having this many issues on a brand new vehicle is bullshit. It’s about to to back to the dealer for the third time for the driveline vibrations and it also has a stumble or false misfire happening while cruising at low rpms (1500 and under). I’ve read several posts about this being common as well. If they can’t fix it This time I’m done. I’ll get a lemon law lawyer if I have to.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. This is my first new vehicle purchase, and I've been in love with the truck. The 10-30ish vibrations arent terrible but have absolutely no place in a new vehicle. I hope my issues are resolved with this fix/1 trip and more stuff doesn't pop up. Because I will be getting legal involved if this turns into a sh*tshow

On the bright side, this community forum helps us gain knowledge and insight to the common problems with this truck. Hopefully Toyota will begin to address these concerns and work to rectify them. Just make sure yours are documented, including days of use lost, to be able to recount the impact of the issues.

    Cheers!

Mine had the same vibration described. It now has 4000 miles and the vibration is almost completly gone, there is still a little at times, but definitely much better.

Nah dude, you’re tripping. Proper lug but torque will take care of it. And you don’t need to replace that shit either. Might just be a little harder to take the drum of next time but that’s why they give you those two screw holes

Nah, dude. I've seen what even the most minor surface discrepancy can do and you are wrong. Lug torque won't cure the problem.

Yes, or it has improved greatly. It seemed worse when the road was wet...or the brake pads were wet. It is wet today and no vibration at all. Weird.

Weird- but good I suppose. I've got my fingers crossed for as pain-free a fix as possible... but I'm def taking it in/not going to wait to see if it goes away. It's wet here today too (work from home), but I will take her out and see if anything is different.

Tell them you want new drums...

Turning them is ridiculous on a new vehicle..

I had the decel vibration issue... Dealer jumped tot he leaf spring TSB right away... Didn't even consider the drums...

They performed the TSB, And the tech forgot to tighten up my hanger bearing and 40km after my dealer visit, the driveshaft flopped down and swirled around the underside of my truck.. NO DAMAGE. I stopped right away.

So after they fixed that...LOL... It helped but was still there...

I drove 50,000km with it like that and finally went to a different dealer because after countless visits to JACKSONS Toyota in Barrie, Ontario.. I really had enough.. Disorganized.. Never look at what I ask.. Run around.. Just a useless dealer..

Went to Hallmark Toyota in Orangeville, Ont..

service guy says.. "Did they replace your drums?"

So the tech replaced my drums.. They were damaged from being over adjusted from the factory on one side..

Its an issue they saw before... And I do remember if I got on the brakes to hard sometimes my rear driverside tire would skid..

    Food for thought..

Turning a drum WILL NOT remove a hotspot in the metal... Once the metallurgy of the drum has been changed, you can't just shave the warpage out for a fix... The drums density has changed in a spot on the wear section somewhere causing the bumpy feel.. The brake shoe won't bite a hard/hot spot like the rest of the drum wear surface

Oh yea, the new Drums, solve 88% of my decel shake...

You mean you took your truck in Five times and they just now got around to checking this on the Fifth go around? Not only do we take it in the rear from Toyota but from the dealers too. Fingers crossed this corrects the problem for you and they’re not just throwing parts at it.
Mine is still great but I haven’t put many miles on it since they replaced both the axles.
