I brought my truck in on Monday around 1 PM and got it back on Wednesday about the same time. They did not have the parts in stock and did the work Wednesday morning.

Vibration feels like a light massage chair or like the ABS is kicking on slightly. My friend drove my truck and said it didnt feel like a warped rotor because the frequency of the vibration was so high. It was almost like the truck was shuddering during braking. Most times it was subtle enough that i was second guessing myself. But after getting it fixed, it brakes soooo much smoother there is no question there was a problem. If you have the problem you will notice the difference getting it fixed

Via TSB. The 0023 axle clearance to brakes one. If they follow it, they should replace the parts in the receipt I uploaded (earlier in thread).

I fixed mine today. Rear drums were warped. Fixed it myself since dealership wouldn’t or couldn’t. Resurfaced drums and shudder/vibration is gone.

if u file a complaint with Toyota they will send out a technician to look at .Here's the catch the dealership will not be able to touch the truck for any repairs till they send the tech out to address the issue u have . This came from my service manager at Toyota . I have been working with them on another issue with my truck . As far as the braking thing I was getting weird grabbing from the rear brakes when I first got it . I did some hard braking on it to get bedding in on the new brake pads haven't had any issues with it since . The vibration your getting sounds like the pads are not bedded in to the new rotors and drums contact is not always there or not even .

If you look at the TSB printout it has a vin run that is affected and a cutoff that means apparently the issue was corrected on the assembly line after a certain vin .just look up 0023-18

2018 Sport DC. I noticed the shudder right after buying the vehicle. Scheduled an appointment at 1200 miles. Dealer replaced the front rotors which I knew would not be the fix and it was not. Just took it back at 4500 with the TSB 0023-18 in hand. They said they could feel a slight vibration and opted to replace the rear drums before getting into the rear and axles. Drums are ordered. I will post when the work is completed and tried. Would like this to be the fix but am not holding my breath at this point. Service manger seemed very willing to pursue a solution.

Aaaand, now the vibration is back although not as severe. The dealer said “it’s normal for the Off-road suspension”. Gonna have to take it back and press the issue.

The symptoms here don't seem to match, but there is currently a brake master cylinder recall: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-recalls-defects/toyota-recalls-tacoma-for-braking-issue/

"The seal on a brake part could become damaged, allowing brake fluid to leak. As a result, drivers may notice a sudden loss of braking performance or a change in how the brake pedal feels when pressed, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)."

same, dealer told me they felt nothing. Its a lease so i figured id complain again when its first oil change is due. But appears to be a issue, it really doesnt bother me that much anymore.... its fairly slight and last a second or two on my sweet sweet pickup truck.

I have a 2019 dcsb v6 mt and it does this. I thought it was supposed to or a break in phase or something. Got 2500 miles on it now and the issue comes and goes. If it keeps happening I’ll end up bringing it in. Good thing I just fell upon this thread.

Sad part is I been wanting a new Tacoma since Tacoma’s been around. I still got my 1994 Toyota pickup and that thing drives with zero issues.

More than likely there is some pad transfer onto the rotor. May have already been mentioned, but I dont wanna read the whole thread. Did you bed the brakes?

All I did was just start driving it so most likely not. I’m don’t drive aggressively or do any emergency braking applications..yet

    Update:
Rear drums replaced today. Service manager and I went for a ride afterward and the problem is unchanged. Service manager confirmed that the condition still exists. He is calling in a district rep to see what is next.
    Probably axles.
So far front rotors and rear drums replaced with no change.
Will report back when next fix is attemted.
The vibration at times is very noticeable and unacceptable for a new vehicle especially a Tacoma.
