Yep...still in the loaner - hope to get it back in a day or two. I'll post the a copy of the paperwork detailing the work they did once I get it.

On a different note, the Tacoma they gave me (Automatic 2022 SR) makes me appreciate the MT even more!

Just confirmed one of the master diagnostic techs is going to complete the TSB on my 2022. They will be working on it tomorrow and I will get it back tomorrow or Friday.

Had mine done this Monday. The noise is gone for now. Initially, the clutch felt different, almost like there were two stages; once the clutch engaged, the pedal would stick a bit, but after driving for a while, it returned back to normal. For anyone curious, the invoice read ~700$

Tsb complete. Creaking is gone. Clutch feels slightly different (softer maybe?), but works great with no sound!

Estimated cost was $1,009.38. Lucky, covered by warranty.

How are yall getting to points 1,2 and 3 in the graphic? Most importantly 1. I can see 2 and 3 when I get down there but it looks like the whole thing will have to come out and be disassembled to actually grease those but is there a way to grease 1 without taking it all out? Can the pedal be removed without removing the sub-assembly and master cylinder?

My clutch pedal feels like dog shit these days. It works fine and so I have just been living with it but it clicks, has what feels like excessive play and of course creaks only months after getting down there to grease. Mostly getting 4,5 and 6. I have tried to get 1,2 and 3 but was largely unsuccessful...

I have never adjusted the rod so I hope that helps. Sounds like it might from some of the more recent posts. The creak isn't great but I'm more annoyed by the clicking and "looseness" of it these days.

My 05 has been squeaking since 2005, but Toyota said "it's normal" even though I brought it in under warranty (way back). Now there's a TSB that covers my year of truck, but it has 235k on it and they conveniently limited it to the 3yr/36k mile warranty :( Scummy.

Taking mine to the dealership tomorrow to see if I can get my clutch fixed up from the squeaking. Hopefully it should all be covered under warranty.

Did you have problems after the TSB fix?

@Doggman ... very curious if your attempts at lubrication with grease have worked at all. I've had the same squeak for about a year now on my 2017 taco and am finally getting annoyed enough to do something about it. Don't want to spend the $1238 (toyota dealer quote) to have them do it. Also, what grease did you try, and what kind of grease gun (with a flexible hose maybe?) did you use? Getting at those hard to reach places is definitely a pain. I'm a big guy and my arms and hands don't want to fix up in there. I tried shooting WD40 up in there, but it really didn't do much at all.

Comes and goes man. I've been hearing it chirp in the morning on first clutch-in the last few weeks so I got about 6 months out of my last grease job. I just use one of the little brake pad grease packets, put some on my finger and get in there. The place I usually focus on is the spool of the torsion spring itself (the slinky looking bit). I spent quite awhile down there trying to figure out exactly what was making the noise and that was my best guess some years ago. I grease that whole thing up, inside and out. Usually does the trick.

I will say though, I care less about it than I used to. I feel confident at this point that it's not breaking and/or problematic with respect to its function so it bothers me less or sometimes not at all if I'm in a good mood.

I’ve got the chirp when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I’ve got a 21 OR. am I part of this recall?

Hey, so, I just got my 2023 TRD Pro back from the local dealership with the TC1400 TSB fix. Was covered under warranty but invoice showed about ~$900. Funny thing is now my clutch feels almost at end of throw and making me feel like my clutch is almost done. I went in immediately and they told me this was common…. is it or am I getting a brush off. They also told me it will come back to normal after a little while which makes me scratch my head. Will call tomorrow to talk to someone else but I feel like I’ll prematurely run out of pedal engagement. This is a new problem as I had originally brought it in for a clunky clutch noise (not squeak) and it was when I change directions (ie backing into a parking spot), disengaging clutch, tapping brakes, and having them sloppily slap back into place due to backlash. Annoying. Then they asked why I didn’t care about the squeak and offered to fix under warranty.

No, that is not right. They didn’t adjust the pedal correctly.

People with a truck newer than 2019 should quit getting the TSB done. Their trucks already have the same parts the TSB will provide. Just grease the parts that ran dry and call it done. Better than the dealer monkeying around and replacing everything, because you end up with this a lot of the time.

You’re better off resetting the pedal height yourself than taking it back in.

I’m not sure what you are describing, but when they did mine they forgot to adjust the clutch pedal height and free play. It’s a DIY job but requires taking apart parts of the dash unless you are a contortionist. I’ve been too lazy to adjust and just got used to it.

It sounds like it is not fully bled. I would see what it is like tomorrow. If it gets better, then it is self bleeding. It can take a few days to fully bleed out.
