most likely, the majority of us use something like disc brake grease because of its high heat tolerance. Just lather it on all the pivot points. But since you're still so new in a 2019 i'd have the dealer look at it in case there is something wrong with the assembly

 

Do you have a link? I did a bit of searching after it was mentioned and couldn’t find anything.

I’d be interested to see it. I shall search some more.

I did manage to find Key-Rei’s post about the pedal. He kept using a Tacoma master cylinder and modified the FJ pedal to work with a different clevis. I would be curious to see the FJ pedal attempted with the matching master cylinder. It it possible the bracket may be required as well if there is a geometry difference there.

I suppose that depends on the bore diameters? The stroke should be the same if the mounting and axis locations are the same.

 

They’re both 3/4” diameters. Thanks for posting that link. I had only read a shorter post he had made about the pedal.

It does seem like there may be a bit more to it than just swapping in the pedal, primarily due to slight differences.

If I owned a Tacoma I would experiment...

I have wanted a welder for years. But honestly, the stock pedal is working well for me. The thing that I do like about the FJ pedal is the linear return spring.

Definitely options for down the road if trouble happens.

this is my DD so i'm a bit in the corner with experimentation. i can do it, just not wildly. but man am i motivated. my pedal held itself together for 3 years now but has fallen into a wobbly creaky loose groaning mess. and there's just no way i'll go to a dealer and spend hundreds with them. that is nuts. so, thanks Jeff, very appreciated. this is the big necessary step into trying.

Weird. Mine only creaks in the winter.

 

I found it interesting that folks have it when hot also. Mine has a hint of creak and click on the coldest days.

I’ve had this on my ‘86 Toyota Pickup and every first gen Tacoma I’ve driven. My ‘18 is pretty quiet however I only just broke 11k miles

 

yep cold equals squeaky clutch pedal for me.

 

let me know if applying it would get rid of the squeal, i feel like it should. Mine only does when its cold out.

 

Mine has not come back yet this winter, but real Disk Brake Grease (not Disk Brake Quiet) has been noted by many folks to solve it.

It was said to either use something like a wooden tool to get into the contact points or to just rub it around while wearing a rubber glove. Check out the MT Fan Club thread as it comes up there often:

Do not use the stuff that I posted. It is more of a high temp, low adhesion compound to keep the pads from moving around and making noise in the calipers.

 

Mine only creaks after the heater has been on.

 

Had TSB-0112-19 performed today. Under warranty. No charge.
