So, as it's gotten hotter out the grease didn't seem to be getting the job done, truck is at the dealer today getting the pedal replaced with what is supposed to be the updated part. We'll see how this goes. I really like this truck, I hope this is more of a permanent fix. A 2 year old truck should not have a clutch pedal that sounds like a creaky haunted house door. It's frigging embarrassing!

Some folks aspire to NVH. It is nice to know something is going on under the skin.

Mine made a tiny squeak once when cold, so I got ready for it to get worse, but has not returned.

Similar here. It was just a few times on our cold (LoL!) days. The disk brake grease fixed it.

That might be the reason, as i remember the clutch being incosistent with the accumulator. Some days i would shift like a pro, some days not so much. I thought i was forgetting how to drive a manual , ha!

Picked up the truck, clutch pedal replaced with new part under TSB 0112-19, nice and silent, and feels smoother than it has in at least 6 months. Seems to be adjusted properly, pedal feels good.

The real question is how will it feel a year from now, but right now I'm happy. Feels like a new truck, almost!

So short of the squeaking being annoying, is there anything to be wary of, if you just leave it as is?
    Does it wear out sooner/fail?

I have about 17k miles on my 2019 TRD OR Taco and all I can hear is noise from the spring if I let it out slowly. The initial depress of the pedal is the only place I hear a little sound.

I would be curious if anyone here has recorded the actual squeak sound though?

For anyone that's had this done is it really worth the bother or will it come back soon enough? from what I've gathered it seems like they just replace it with the same unit. I was thinking I'd just hit it with some white lithium grease or graphite lube once in a while. Also has anyone with the ADM had it done without issues? Sorry if that's already been answered in this thread I'm at work and can't really read through the whole thing right now.

Last summer they replaced clutch pedal and master under old TSB on my truck (so, same parts as stock), over winter with heat on floor setting i started hearing some noise that grease cured for a while, when summer heat came this year it got stupid loud (haunted house door creak), and grease was not quite getting it done.

Couple weeks ago they replaced my pedal under new TSB with revised part, there are pictures somewhere in this thread i think, looks like maybe a bushing where the spring hits the plastic of the clutch pedal arm IIRC, maybe other changes.

I hope this permanently resolves the issue, but I have my doubts. It is the only real issue I have been having, so that is nice, but when it gets noisy it also starts to feel not as smooth as well, and it really is not optimal for a truck that is less than two years old with 16k miles to have to replace this multiple times.

I have the stuff to do the ADM, but I have not done it due to recurring pedal issue, don't want to give them any reason to deny anything, and to be honest at this point either I have gotten used to the truck, or it has broken in or something, because when the pedal is quiet I really have no issue with the clutch.

I would really like to keep this truck long term, but some sort of permanent solution needs to be found for this if the current revised part does not solve it. It's really just silly that this has been going on since like 2005.

Saved your post for later...I might just do that before too long.
Though weirdly, Im not super picky about stuff as long as things function properly. Also mine never felt super bad/squeaky?
Would love to compare it to someone with a metal FJ pedal and a accumulator delete mod.

here's the funny thing. I'm not super picky either... if the stuff is working. if the stock pedal assembly etc worked without all the loose play, noise, and resulting lack of confidence, i could have dealt with it being somewhat weird. BUT, if I'm now into fixing and replacing stuff then i will not compromise it. that's what happened here.

if you're ever local feel free to contact me and check it out.

Just checking in with my clutch pedal squeak October 2019 build date 2020 truck that has it with 5k miles. I'm assuming that my truck was built with the newer parts that are listed in the TSB, so I'm not too optimistic. Figure I could be a useful data point.

    That sucks. And, welcome!

Give the disk brake grease a shot?

I'm going to let the dealership faff with it for a while. Once I'm past my warranty I'll probably machine a bronze sleeve and a shouldered bolt for it assuming is the pivot that is causing the noise.

It can be the pedal pivot or the spring perches.

If the squeak comes back with the new TSB part I'm going with the steel FJ Cruiser pedal.
