If you think in any way that the Taco takes canyon roads well then you've not driven the right cars. I've spent countless days throwing a Mazdaspeed3 around on Tail of the Dragon and other nearby mountain roads and most sports cars where road blocks by comparison. Find a cheap used Miata, slap on some sticky tires and let the fun begin. Save the truck for offloading.

The older version of the Tacoma was just better at everything as I have had 4 of various years. Get a Tundra before they change as well, nuff said!

A Miata is the target someday when I have more garage space.

The lower limits, body roll, and all that just makes the Taco fun. I gotta bike for being stupid. I have no regrets grabbing one or the other for fun roads.

The majority of buyers who can afford luxury vehicles Don't actually want the built in technology, if they did they would already know how to use the tech before purchasing a tech loaded vehicle.

It’s actually pretty simple to install the tune, you just gotta have basic computer skills. If you can send/receive emails and download/install programs, you are good to go. I’m not computer savvy at all, and it was a breeze.

P.S. I guess I fall in the 1/3rd that actually loves their truck and thinks it’s great :D The more I drive it the more I like it.

Sport suspension and the high revving v6 is a great combo for canyon roads/mountain passes. Definitely this is the most fun vehicle I’ve owned.

Got my tune from @TWTaco at 2000 miles 2 weeks ago and it’s like I bought and even newer truck! I let my 18yr old son drive it today and afterwards he just looked at me,grinned and said, “your truck is fun to drive....” checking the rubber on my tires now

My 21 drives so much better than my 18 or 19.

So I declined to tune it. But after reading all the reviews on the KDMAX tune, had it tuned this past Saturday.

All I can say is WOW, my truck woke up.

It was fun to drive before but now it is a pure joy.

Best money spent on my truck and like others, I have spend a lot on it!

    Highly recommend the KDMAX tune.

While these trucks are not high performance sport cars, they function very well with these automatic transmissions once they get some miles on them learning your driving habits. When the truck was very new, i wondered what i got into buying this truck...it hunted like crazy. Now,... i wouldn't change anything in mine, you couldn't ask this truck to perform any better.

If tunes can be kept in the ect mode and keep your regular D stock tune plus gear lock in sport mode with ect activated would be money. I have to get use to this kdmax tune. Its like driving ect on all the time but 4x that. And be ready to break necks cuz that stop and go can be to much sometime. Feel like start up is in the 3g rpm jump from stop and go.
