Soooo, thanks to ECGS for a fantastic experience and a great product. Swapped out the third member for a rebuilt and man what a difference. No more crazy whine on accel/decel and not more gawd awful rumble from the rear end. I can actually hear the exhaust note. By the way, my muffler is now rotting through, I am thinking 18" Magnaflow for the this application.

I really hate the AP EXPO rear springs, I should have just gotten OME again, they are the best DD/light wheeling springs in my opinion. I am glad I kept the OME extra leaf from my old setup, though I don't think I will need it with the longer shackles.

Getting some more time in the garage equals getting some stuff done. Tire carrier about 95% finished. Just need to permanently attach the delrin pads and weld on a reverse light bracket and paint this sucker.

    IMG_1815_zpseszqgihf_e1d9c139d149fb24a7acde5e30cc31a7781b3802.jpg

Not really in love with how the latch worked out, may have to move that later on, I can definitely see that catching a rock sometime. But for now it cures the problem of have the tire in the bed and no more noise from the factory tire carrier. It was creaky with the oversize tire under there.

May add another swing arm to the other side down the road to house a ammo can for recovery gear (another nod to BoxRocket). That will get that kind of stuff out of the inside of the truck permanently. Rattley shit drives me crazy. Getting ready to sell my Civic now that the baby is getting big, that will fund some new tires and credit card payoff. Woot!

Bro, dont listen to the naysayers. It seems like more often than not someone always bashes a new post in some manner. If everything checks out as far as tranny, suspension, brakes and such your well ahead of the game. Id say its a nice truck, but i think id be lying. Well, at least the exterior looks good. I say do what makes you happy, and if you were a helicopter mechanic (not trying to imply your lying) fuck it. Drop a new motor in it. The interior could he worse. Nothing seat covers and shampoo wont help, im sure. Congrats on your kid...enjoy the build. Make sure it.had the ball joint recall done. I THINK toyota still has to honor that. But dont take my word for it. Good luck, and keep posting back. Not everybody in here is negative..

Edit: not opening my eyes and seeing how old/long this thread is. :frusty:

    ^^^I appreciate the encouragement though:)^^^

But I have gotten the swingout painted and reinstalled along with adding the final pieces of welding and whatever. Here it is...

Excuse the messy wiring, the light needs to be wired to a switch and the license plate will be moved up to the inside of the spare.

Ordered up a set of Cooper AT3's for the truck in Load C and the LT265/75-16. I spend more time on the road than off anymore, but wanted a more stable tire than the flimsy feeling P-metric, stock sized Michelins.

Review and pics to come one installed.

Very smooth on road, and I will be able to get them dirty Memorial Day weekend, with the wife and another couple for a relaxing night in the old mountains of the east.

Looks good! Ive been following your build because it's similar to mine. My wife and I are hooking up our camper to the taco and heading down I81 to the Smokey mountains next week. Have a safe trip!

Made a little bracket finally for my 10 lb. tank, 3/16" mild steel and a couple of Quick Fist Super Fist's or Clamps or whatever they are called.

    IMG_1914_zpsdcbeiwoe_97a34db8a07fd91b09c9641bb859acfa2106df82.jpg

Never liked ratchet strapping this to the tie down point, so it is now bolted in. I made it to be ambidextrous so that is making adding a gusset to brace it off a little difficult, so I am going to let the tank be a stressed member (since it's there anyway) and see how that goes for the first couple of trips. If it seems to fatigue, then I will make version 2.0 with a gusset of some sort.

The AT3's are doing great, sold off all of my other wheels and tires and just ordered the fifth tire and matching stock alloy (finally). Pretty stoked about these tires, they really hold the road well and didn't slip a second this weekend when the wife and I went up to a local wheeling/camping spot for Memorial Day. Very confidence inspiring, carried the wieght of our junk just fine and did well aired down. Relativity quiet also.

Finally get the license plate mount finished, the zip ties were killing me.

AT3s are great so far, very little road noise, I definitely can't hear them over the Dynomax muffler, and that thing is pretty quiet.
