FYI, THERE IS A PROBLEM.. as it turns out the 09 Tacomas have the daytime driving lights as the blinker.. and the Orange light in the ARB bumper is meant to ONLY be a blinker. not run all the time. So.. the problem I am experiencing is it is shutting down the Day Time Driving light circuit in about 10 minutes or so because it is getting too hot.

Called ARB, that orange light is a blinker only (wattage too high), and the clear one is meant to be a marker light that can run all the time. He gave said it would probably melt the plastic if it runs all the time, so he suggested I do something else. I am going to try replacing the bulb with a lower wattage bulb.. he said it was a Type 1156 bayonet... Ideas for replacement? Can I do anything brighter that won't melt the housing or draw too much power? :D

    A few bolts are different.
that makes sense. I never thought of the wattage difference, the DTRL on the 09's are much brighter then the DTRL mod on my 05, which are not switched/relayed.

Edit: just read the post again, why cant you tap into the lower wattage parking light.

Smart-ass... careful Jason.. I heard there was a flasher in Katy that resembled you.. :D

I changed the 21w 1156 bulbs for a 5w bulb I had laying around in the tool box. Everything works fine, but it's not as bright.

Yes, the yellow marker lights in the bumper were drawing too much current. I ended up changing the bulbs to fix the problem.

I didn't care how bright they were, so I just changed the incandescent bulb to a lower wattage. Haven't had that problem since..
