Did anybody see the new ARB JACK? It's a hydraulic jack with a similar style of the classic farm jack but looks to have a smaller footprint and easier operation. Street price seems a little ridiculous at around $900 from what people are saying (I have no idea what the actual price will be).

They launched some teasers for it on Instagram this weekend with a link and video, but it seems to have been removed.

Agreed on that price. It seems to be people just jabbering, and I hope it's much less. Im trying to find the video that shows it in action; it has a 2-speed release for quickly compressing it or releasing it slowly.

It doesn't look any safer than a HiLift. Can still seriously mame or kill you if it shifts sideways.

Well personally I hate Hi-Lift jacks despite their admitted wide range of utility so maybe my opinion matters even less than most peoples! Still this thing introduces the lack of reliability of hydraulics to the already fraught issue of tipping risk of a Hi-Lift. At the same time it reduces the travel to 21 inches from the mid 40s for a Hi-Lift. Still 21 inches of travel is probably plenty. It weighs as much as the Hi-Lift and can't be used to tension things like a Hi-Lift or stand in as a crappy winch substitute either. It does however remove the Hi-Lift's oft underestimated utility in dental extraction (i.e. getting your teeth knocked out by the wayward handle).

I also don't understand the 360 degree adjustability claimed for the foot. The foot is a circle, what is there to adjust? Are they saying the foot spins freely relative to the shaft? That doesn't seem like a win if that is the case - lets add additional twisting risk to tipping risk?

Haven't seen an official price, but I suspect not cheap giving all the aluminum and reference to their already extremely pricey shocks.

Still - thanks for the link! Always nice to see folks innovating in the off-road space even if it doesn't seem like something for me (or most people for that matter).

The hi lift or farm jack is popular for its simplicity, functionality and reliability. You will have none of those with a 900 dollar hydraulic jack.

I would rather try to put my limp noodle in a Panthers butt inside a greased up phone booth at night than pay 900 dollars for a farm jack that has ARB stamped on it
