There are numerous battery names but basically only 3 manufactures of batteries in the US. I'm in Maine it gets cold the battery in my truck I believe is 7 years old. They generally give you a heads up with a weak crank one morning listen to it, it's trying to tell you some thing don't wait around. While your at the store pick the new battery up buy the heavyest one (the most lead). I remember as a youth batteries were doing well to last 2 years!

Added the 1 amp diode mode to boost the charge voltage to the 14.6 volts this AGM desires. I used the original hold down bracket but had to grind of the original J hook on the back side and use a generic threaded version to accommodate the increase in height

Original toyota battery lasted 2 years. It died at the top of my street at the grocery store. Since its a down slope to my house I just put it in neutral and coasted down and into my driveway

When I installed a 27F battery, I didn't like how so much of the battery was going to hang over the mounting base. Maybe in time the bottom of the battery or sheet metal would crack.

I thought this would be a good fix.

The hole is for locating the air bag sensor bolt.

The bracket is bent down to strain relief closer to the body mount.

In the end this mod is not so good. The only plus is more AmpHrs for the winch. The bad is the air bag sensor bolt is hard to get to, the UCA bolt is even harder to remove and I am somewhat locked into double price batteries.

Here is a test of the Amp Hrs at near 4 years. Jus about where a Group 34 AGM is new.
