This isn't an assisted opening knife. An assisted opener is where you manually start the blade, and then the spring takes over. This one , you pull the axis lock back and the blade opens. So it's like any other switchblade, except that instead of a push button, it opens via the axis lock.

    Source?

Last I checked folding knives had no blade limit and can be concealed. Fixed blade knives can't be concealed and must be worn on a belt in plain view.

Hopefully this isn't seen as a thread jack and more as clarifying for any potential buyers.

I don't believe that length limit exists for folding knives, and this knife is legal to own in CA, just not for carry for civilians as it has no thumb stud - therefore classifying as a switch blade.

California Penal Code 21510. Every Person Who Does Any Of The Following With A Switchblade Knife:

Every person who does any of the following with a switchblade knife having a blade two or more inches in length is guilty of a misdemeanor:

(a)Possesses the knife in the passenger’s or driver’s area of any motor vehicle in any public place or place open to the public.

(b)Carries the knife upon the person.

(c)Sells, offers for sale, exposes for sale, loans, transfers, or gives the knife to any other person.

In California, LEO's aren't specifically exempt from this law. Owning the knife is not a problem. Also, really not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but part (c) sorta applies here.

I believe you may be right. I was always told. But that could have been an LA county thing. Sorry about that.
