I'm not looking for soft, I'm looking for comfortable. Because when I drive over a lot of shitty CA roads the stock OffRoad shocks are really uncomfortable

Well these are digressive right? Hard at first but get softer as more compression takes place?

Hands down these are the shocks I’d place on my Tacoma if I had the discretionary funds for. Next would be a 6112/5160 set up.

They(6112/5160) will mimic OEM quality as they were in development with Toyota TRD, but have much better handling OffRoad.

    Here’s a solid review on the 6112/5160 on a 4Runner.
    https://expeditionportal.com/did-bilstein-just-make-the-ultimate-4runner-overland-suspension-system/

Yes it’s not the 8112 but it gives you a frame of reference.

I’d put these on my truck before Kings/ADS/ICON/FOX

My bad...lol thought you were talking about 6112’s. I would love to get a ride and see what the 8112’s feel like

Haha yea. Same here. ADS>6112 yes, but 8112 will give any of these brands a run for their money. I’d go on the side of being more reliable and the better buy. I’m sure on road they are nice too, where other brands fall short.

These are DDs for majority of the people who buy these set ups. So that’s one of the biggest factor plus Off road performance.

No, just by myself with no weight. Unless i'm on a nice flat highway the stock shocks are not good

I did close to 300 miles with my 8112s this weekend in the desert (still don't have the rears yet) both loaded and empty. They rock, sucked up the whoops really well, did awesome on the rocks, and the road manners are exceptional.

Kewl, I have a 17 DCSB Sport, and think the stock suspension is
great on smoother roads, on/off-ramps highways.
Adequate on rough city roads (it's a truck right)
My spine is going to wrap around my ears off road.

I tried the OR and did not like how it was on the road. And with some of the rough roads and on ramps here, seemed a little too bouncy.... Nose dive...
Good off-road when going slow but no good for "Baja".

I tried a Pro and liked the ride a lot better but IMHO do not feel the minor improvement is worth the cost. These should have been the shocks on the OR. Not good enough for the price they are.

So how are these compared to the Sport stock shocks when you slam on the brakes? Nose Dive?
Hitting the turns fast on the street.
    Speed-bumps, slow/fast.
Sounds like they "feel better" off-road than the Sport shocks feel on-road. Is that safe to say?

I'm so close to pulling the trigger on these but there will be no-one here in Ontario for me to ride-along with to test them out so I have to torment you guys to see if these justify the $4K+ Cdn.

No nose dive, way better road manners than my sports or 5100s, and really smooth offroad. I'd also reccomend replacing your leaf springs too. Made a huge difference in my handling.

I'd talk to @Despized at rogue offroad, he's been great to work with.

I’m weird. I actually have the 6112s up front and Bilstein 8100s in the rear. The 5160s I had before were the weak point in the setup. Not sure when I’ll upgrade to the 8112s cuz I think the 6112s ride extremely nice! 9CD406CC-2D45-4CC7-83F7-9850C055E38F.jpgA534D79F-85C6-4A6B-BFE1-0A3E276A0FC6.jpg

Don’t get my wrong the 5160 is a great system but I wanted to match the front Better as far as dampening dampening and soaking up bigger hits.

 Wow. The 5160s didn't do it for you?

I am thinking about an upgrade for the rear with the 6112s in the front.
    Was considering the 5160s.

Go big or go home....I actually didn’t really need to upgrade the rear but the 8112/8100 was what I want originally but they weren’t out at the time.

Trust me you won’t be disappointed with the 5160. They served its purpose as shown below.
