    I have a question for y'all 8100'ers:
I have the chance to set ride height on a friends' wall-mounted spring compressor, I have Mobtown recovery hitch, TRD skid, Rago LCA skids, and Mobtown sliders. I would like to still have some OEM rake with the Deaver Stage 2 rears.
What should I set the front coils at? I know that out of the box is .6" lift.

    Thanks!

max them out to the full 2”, and if you’re a third gen, bump to the 650# coils as well. I left mine at stock (1.5” with 600# coils), and I have a bit too much rake imo.

edit: should mention, I’m on the deaver u402 stage 2s.

Thought I would post some impressions int eh event it can help someone. I struggled with my shock decision - I've run Bilsteins on cars in the past, but this is my first truck. I drove a TRD Pro and thought the FOX's were great, but wanted something a cut above.

Phase 1 - a few months ago I threw these on. Immediately like the truck better. More support in the front on the brake, better overall ride, firmer on smaller bumps - so washboard wasn't as pleasant, but so much better on the highway, big bumps and dips, and way more control of body roll and dive. I set ride height about stock to prevent too many alignment issues and after driving it a while, I put two turns of rebound in the rear. I did get the occasional "squish" sound referenced elsewhere in this thread on big hits form the front, but nothing was hitting that I could find and it never bothered me much.

Phase 2 - this week I have my Hamburg control arms fitted. I could do it myself, but was feeling lazy. I had the shop align the truck and raise the front to level it out (a little more than an inch). I have to say that this change was just as transformative as first fitting the 8100's. The caster helps tremendously with feel and steering weight (as does an alignment). The squish sound is gone and ride much more compliant - which I'm not sure if its because the front shocks are riding higher in the stroke, the control arms, or the rebalancing of the truck weight distribution. the on center feel is better as well. Overall - so satisfied and happy I spent this money. The ride is amazing now. I took a turn of compression out of the rear and the truck feels way more balanced over bumps (FWIW I have the weight of a factory tonneau on my bed).

    YMMV

My set was 2.2” out the box. I needed them set 2.6” so I wouldn’t rub. I had 2.75 on my old set up so I lost some lift. Since I’m maxed out for my truck at 2.6” and I’m riding on 285/70/17s I rub my fenders and have fully stuffed my tires into my wheel well. I need external bump stops to keep from hitting the inside of the wheel well. Oh and this weekend I discovered I stuff my rear tires into my fender so I got to trim some.
2.2” gave me some rake that was noticeable by everyone since I used to sit level.

I installed the 650s with 32mm threads showing on driver side and 24mm on passenger side.

The ride quality is superb! Driving on dirt roads, double track, technical double track I have no more head shake, front end diving, rear end bottoming out which was the characteristics of the stock suspension with the extra weight of the sliders, skids, shell, etc. Street manners are calmer.
For the damping adjustment of the rears, I will increase, “clockwise”, rebound and may decrease, counter clockwise”, compression.
The fronts Do audibly click/clack under movement, which Bilstein states with the installation paperwork.

Have u had any issues since u have had them awhile?? Any clunking when hitting bumps? I saw someone on youtube having a clunking issue and it has made me question getting them.as of now I have 4600s and like them but they seem just a tad stiff at slow speed.. Do the 8112 feel stiff at slow speed? How would you descrive how they feel ? And of course any issues?

D83A124F-9D11-448A-A598-93F30D2B3B19.jpgOk. I think I broke it smh. Its was totally my fault. I’m running 8112’s and 8100’s with Icon RXT stage 1 leaf springs. I had 51,260 miles on that setup when the damaged occurred. I’m new here, not sure if the photo of the blown left 8100 will be clear. I also broke the bottom leaf and will post that picture as well if this one comes out clear.
