New colorway for the 8112’s is very nice. Couldn’t be more stoked. Can’t wait to retire my 5100/OME coil setup

Nice looking setup. Do the rear's have the adjuster knobs yet or still the original style?

 

No idea didn’t buy rears. I’ve got 14” short body 7100’s out back

 

You think they could make a full length for us 6” customers?
Cause I’m tired of the 5100/OME combo as well
I’ve got 5160s in the rear and love those. But I think the front is a bit tired after 4 years

 

FWIW I bought all four clicker knobs for the rear 8100 shocks, 2x B4-SK0-Z007A01 and 2x B4-SK0-Z007A00 ($2XX / Each) with the help of Bilstein, through Shock Surplus and neither company was upfront before my purchase about the installation of the knobs. Nor could, would, have Bilstein recommend a shop in Colorado to do the work.
8100 rear shocks have to be removed. The nitrogen charge has to be released. Position the damper adjuster point up to remove, oil will come out.
Install clicker knobs. Re-charge nitrogen. Reinstall into the truck.

 

$2xx per knob seems steep, since you need 4 of em.

 

How long of a wait?

 

I am confused how these rear 8100s work on lifted trucks, aren't they designed for only 1" of lift?
I have the front 8112s on my truck, but with lift leaf springs out back, and Bilstein listing the rear shocks for 0-1" inches of lift, I got nervous and didn't want to cause damage by installing them.

 

I have Deaver Stage II in the back which got less than 3" of lift and no problems.

I had a feeling they would work in a lifted application (I have IronMan 4x4 leaf springs, and got around 3" of lift from them).

 

Wow - really disappointed to see this. While this probably represents the harshest environment these shocks would see, for $4k I expect more. Wonder what options exist to refurb the housings, etc.

 

Looks nice is that like painted or powdered coated? Main reason why I haven't pulled the trigger on these is the corrosion susceptibility.
