Got a new block and it was missing several things. Managed to outsource and find most of em. Except this one. Just turned it on for the first time and I’m leaking/ spraying oil from here. When I turn it on it sprays out of the Hole. From the looks of it, there seem to be threads and it’s about 1” away from the engine mounts. but don’t know what it’s called and how deep the bolt would be.

Maybe knock sensor. Check engine light on? Any unplugged wires?

@Superdave1.0 no all of these listed on the diagram are solid. No leaks or nada. But I had the same issue with the coolant drain plug on the passenger side of the block. A small bolt was missing on the block itself so I had to go to the junkyard and luckily found it. I don’t know how lucky I’ll be or if that engine block is still even there

You don't have your old engine block for reference? Are you leaking oil or coolant?

Toyota has been making 3rz blocks since 1959...
.....there's no tellin how many appendages this supported over the decades..

as far as I can tell that port is not used on tacomas 95.5+....

No real clue but a hole for a dipstick? Especially for a different application?

@O’silver_taco yeah man this block was missing so many Lil bolts here and there. When I checked the video from when I removed the block I couldn’t see anything there. So maybe this is from a 95

LC engineering sells all kinds of goodies for moded toys.....

    https://www.lceperformance.com/searchresults.asp?Search=3rz&Submit=Submit

Dont think you got a 95....back then the toyota truck (not tacoma yet) came with 22RE's for base 4 bangers and that sucky 3.0 6 cyl that would blow head gaskets for breakfast....

Dont think they used 3rz in US trucks before 95....maybe in the Hilux outside the states.....

I think thats it......I've seen a JDM engine swap with the dipstick on that side....
instead of in front timing case.....it was very odd looking compared to what we/re use to...
the taco owner complained how it didnt give an accurate reading......

I'll see if I can find that thread here from about 2 mo ago....

So...you got a reman JDM block.....

most likely from the millions of Hilux's sold overseas......

the asians pull these out and put in the 2.5 diesel thats more popular than the gas ones.....
outside of US regulations......and americans wont buy the zero pep diesels here...

You should be able to get a plug ... its not under pressure....and its not below oil line....normally just a tube there with o-ring on the JDM's....

I'd do a temp fix.....and then figure something better......
maybe start a new thread asking for suggestions ....now you know what animal your chasing....

If it was me carefully de-oil....JB weld a tight bolt.....

There are two dipstick holes on the 3RZ blocks. The t-100 has the dip stick in the front and the tacoma has the hole you have on the driver side. It's just a taper plug that you put in there. I used a rubber hose and a bolt to fill mine.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
so many remanufactured blocks come missing all sorts of plugs you need to look at things a little closer.

    What else is missing??
