First order of business is looking to upgrade rims. This one came with Steelies, and I'm looking at alloys. I'm learning about rim/tire sizes and want to know any gotchas.
My tires are 245/75R16 and I found Toyota alloy rim sizes here not sure if that also includes steel rim sizes. I also know I'll have to replace the TPMS sensors since they won't swap between steel and alloy rims. And I'd need to have a dealer re-configure.

Anyone else upgraded steel to alloy rims out there?

    Welcome!

I changed my steels to alloys and didn't have any issues really.
I ended up going with http://www.procompusa.com/wheels-pr...=2336-1558-1551-1557&pqa=13671-8275-8057-8268
I kept the stock 245/75/16 tires until I ordered some Michelins when they needed to be replaced. And yes I ended up ordering black lugs, tpms sensors, and had the dealership reconfigure the setup so the truck could read the sensors.

On a side note, the stock steels are 16x7 and the pro comps are 16x8. I did not need spacers and the rims actually brought my tires out a small distance and I think its looks great!

I swap my steelies for sr5 alloy wheel and I didn't need to swap the sensor at all. Tpms sit at different angle in alloy wheel but it still work fine. I done mine at discount tire

@tuanhuy0301 that's good to know. My guess is the sensor might rattle around in the tire and eventually break if its not seated correctly. How long ago did you put them in your Alloy wheels?

Welcome! For new wheels the best option is Stealth Custom Series. There's tons of threads on them- anyone who has 'em will tell you there's nothing else like them.

I just put them on like 2 weeks ago. So basically the sensor will hang in different angle but it will not make any noise at all unless when you change the tires just make sure the tire shop know so they will no break the sensor when open it. I search on forum that some folks use the same sensor for few years just fine
