After dealing with my local Toyota dealer over the last 6 weeks trying to diagnose driveline vibrations in my 2011 TRD Sport, there is finally a new TSB for us Canadian guys that we can utilize. Although the US version of this TSB has been a round for quite sometime, up here we could never use it as a course of action for getting this issue fixed. Now, finally, Toyota Canada released the same TSB on Feb 7th. So if you guys are having driveline vibrations, get your dealer to search for the new TSB and hopefully these issues are over.

My truck is going in Friday morning to start the procedure, and I'll try to update this post with a link to the Canadian TSB if I can get my hands on it.

For reference the US TSB is TSB 0249-12.

Well, got the ball rolling finally. Picked up my '11 from the dealer after they did the first procedure in the TSB, which is the Rear Transmission Mount. And as I predicted, I still have vibrations. So, for the 6th trip to the dealer trying to sort this issue out, it is going back in on Tuesday to get the rear leafs replaced as the second part of the TSB.

Will update again after this is complete.

I'll see if I can get a copy of it, but the paperwork I have from my dealer quotes TCI-4089.

FYI... the new US TSB for driveline vibes was released on Feb 3rd... so you canadians got it 4 days later.

That said, its likely to be 100% the same exact tsb.

Well my dealer has been not following the TSB to the letter yet, but in addition to the Rear Trans Mount they changed out, they replaced the complete driveshaft, CB and U Joints. Still have a slight vibe between 60-80 km/h. So back in it goes again for the rest of the TSB including new springs and axle shims. Hopefully this lengthy saga will be over soon.

Finally after a 5 week wait on parts, everything is complete. Toyota had suspended the Canadian TSB as they had trouble getting the required parts for it. Now, after the transmission mount, steering wheel dampener, complete new drive shaft and carrier bearing, new rear springs and axle shims, I finally have no more vibrations. I hope that's the end of my issues with this truck.

What were the vibrations you were having? I'm hoping to take this TSB to the dealer to help correct my takeoff shudder. Do you still think the TSB is TCI-4089?

    Congrats on your success!

TCI 4089 is what all my paperwork says, so I would mention that to them and see what they say. I was getting vibes between 40-60 and 100-110, nothing on take off however.

Ok, thanks. Mine's not too bad once rolling, but takeoff shudder is driving me nuts.
Not sure if I will bother calling the dealer. Sounds like you were having a different issue.

i'm having shudders/vibrations that would start at 40 kph, before 60 kph and before 80 kph. it happens at low RPM (1500 and lower), its not noticeable if the RPM is high or in overdrive. I was told by the dealer that it could be in the transmission. I went to a transmission shop to have it tested and he said to try replacing the u joints first as he believes its not the transmission that's causing the vibration. i replaced 1 bad u joint 4 months ago. i may have to replace all 3 u joints and the CB and hope it'll eliminate this vibration

I'll double check my paperwork later on this evening, but mine does reference TSB 4089 I'm pretty certain.

Out of curiosity, I called another dealer in the next town, and simply asked if they'd heard of TCI-4089. The service advisor hadn't, but after a few minutes he managed to find it. Said it had to do with driveline vibrations. I didn't get into specifics - just asked him how recent it was, and he said Feb.7, 2014.

Not to be funny.... But I had lived with my vibration for years. Changed tires, u- joints etc to no avail.

    Last fall I threw on a 3" lift and 285/75 MT/Rs.

Now I can't feel the vibration!!!! It could be the change in overall gearing or simply that i cant hear it over the tire noise!

    Regardless, I'm happy.
