Sounds like crap in my opinion, also those hangers are bugging the hell out of me. All that clean tig welding and bends and the hangers are straight cuts. Had they bent the ends to contour the exhaust it would make it look 10 times better.

Basically a 60° V6 fires every 120° of rotation, meaning you have a cylinder in either bank firing at the same time. The exhaust pulses are tightly compacted as a result. This is what makes the GR engine sound drony to the ear. It's known as an "even fire" engine. A 90° V6 fires every 240° (I think, may have to check that) making for exhaust pulses that are more spread out. These are known as "odd fire" engines. Our ear interprets that space between the pulses as "lumpy and throaty".

Well that's a good primer on mechanics. Appreciate the link. Our last 4 engines couldn't be more different (3 currently owned).

Bimmer X4M4.0i: Had the inline 6 N55. Wonderfully smooth and high revving.
LR Discover V: Has the 3.0L supercharged V6. Nothing spectacular but it's pretty smooth and gets the job done.
Taco 3rd Gen: Well, you know what we have.
Cayman GTS: 3.4L flat six... the darling of the garage.

So yep, in the 6 cylinder category the V's just don't do much for me. The inline was wonderful, and the opposed is simply spectacularly sounding and performing.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
You want to sound different and good?
3” straight pipes with unequal length headers.
You’ll sound like a big, angry, Subaru.
    Just dooooo it!!!

"More HP and torque" uh, nope. Nice try though.
Also, I was amused that the "kid" thought that the exhaust tip was so "sick". Was he the other guy's little brother or something?
Oh well, to each his own I guess.

I thought the cold start was actually pretty nice. But put the 'beans' to it and I didn't care for it with rpm.

    None yet.....
    In my 20’s, I straight-piped.
In my 30’s, I migrated from loud flowmasters to magnaflows.
Now that I’m in my 40’s, I would go no higher than Flowmaster Super 50 for level of sound. I hear all the rasp in that Carven exhaust and I can’t stand it.

Still not a fan of stock though......yet.

My son just did a flowmaster 40 series and I must say I'm impressed. I have the TRD pro exhaust, which I love but to tell you the truth I really like the flowmaster. It was a simple cut off the old and weld in the new, perfect fit and a little high temp ceramic paint and it looks awesome and sounds great. I have listened to many exhaust setups on YouTube and my friend has a 50 series which is pretty close to the low deep sound of the pro exhaust at least to my ears. Now I'm over 50 and I like a nice tasteful sounding exhaust. My son's got the lift, tires and wheels so I think it fits the look of the truck and no it doesn't sound like a fart can Honda. I was overall very impressed and barely any to no drone. I know what drone is and having been in many a cars that drone this is good. Personally you want a little drone so it sounds bad ass to the car next to you while driving at 55 plus and not obnoxious sounding. This muffle fits the bill, hands down a great sound!
