Minus trailer cost, storage (or ability to store), and mpg hit. I guess it depends on what you consider a lot. When I think of full size, I think of overall length and power - not width. If you want a truck that's easier to park and easier on the wallet at the pumps, I don't know why width would have to be sacrificed.

On the other hand, people that regularly haul that kind of stuff probably do it for a living - and buying a mid size truck for that kind of duty doesn't necessarily make sense.

I don't do building construction for a living, but I buy foreclosure homes and live in them for several years while I fix them up. So I'm hauling things like sheetrock, insulation, OSB/Plywood on a regular basis, but not a daily one. Since I'm not doing it for a living, it's hard to justify a full size for my DD, especially since I like the MPG's you get from a mid-size.
The compromise is that I'll frequently take the Dodge to the lumberyard and use the Tacoma for pretty much everything else. It's not an insurmountable obstacle for me; I'm just saying that it would be nice to have a fuel-efficient mid-sized truck that also had enough room between the wells to haul 4x8 sheets.
    Just wishin' is all.

Edit: I guess while I'm at it I want a turbodiesel/manual option, better leaf springs and 28mpg :D

Ridgeline is for you then if all you want is the width to lay down the sheet :D (length is another matter)

Today's generation is to ADD for commercials that run over 90 seconds long. Another epic fail brought to you buy the colossal failure that is GM.

BTW even I couldn't get though 30 seconds of that first commercial. It tries so hard to be funny and falls epically flat. I really hope some 10 y/o youtuber made that and not a highly paid GM marketing team.

15 seconds of cancer vs over 90 seconds worth. That's what. Toyota win.
