People do all kinds of things, not all of them are smart or in their best interest. I bought my 2013 and am generally happy with it, but I have 14 months and not quite 24k miles and flat leaf springs and 3 recalls, my TPMS light comes on if it's under 60 degrees when the pressures are fine, and stay on whether or not I start/turn off the truck 3 times that day and drive 10 miles or if I drive 100 miles and start/turn off the truck 12 times.

Rusty frames, rusty leaf springs, broken leaf springs, leaf spring "clips" as a repair for both of those faults, odd vibrations front and/or rear, etc,. etc,.

The fact that people still buy a Tacoma means nothing when there's nothing else to buy in it's segment except a Tacoma. When there are 2 or 3 other options in the market segment and people still buy a problem plagued Tacoma over other similar trucks - then that's something to write about. I like my Tacoma, but if it wasn't made by Toyota (perceived reliability/longevity) then I wouldn't have bought one knowing the problems the majority of them come with. It isn't like a Tacoma owner MIGHT have shitty leaf springs, it's a Tacoma owner WILL have shitty leaf springs.

I don't live in rust country so frame/leaf rust isn't likely to be a concern of mine over the years, but I'm at 14 months of ownership and not quite 24k miles and my leafs are flat. I could buy a new, better set aftermarket but at the end of the day, my truck is under factory warranty and replacing suspension components out of pocket makes zero sense. I love my truck, but it's far from perfect. I'll take perceived drivetrain durability over shit quality leaf springs, but I shouldn't have to pick and choose between drivetrain and suspension parts reliability. For $20-45k you should get both, especially when Toyota's been pumping out the same shit leaf packs for 10 years, and recalling them years later only to make a cheap fix or replace them with the same shitty leafs except newer manufacture. :puke:

Someone should make a heated toilet seat that plugs into the bed outlet and mounts on the receiver, so when I pinch one into a Home Depot bucket in the middle of the sticks I can really enjoy the experience.

Consumer reports doesn't like the tacoma because it rides too much like a truck.
