GM won't make this truck imo, at least not with that height, tire and wheel combo, front and rear lockers etc. But if they can get 30mpg+ hw from their diesel, hopefully it will make Toyota step their game up with the new taco.

Looks pretty cool. I still wouldn't buy one, but it looks like they did just about what every Tacoma offroad enthusiast would want done off the lot to an offroad designated midsize truck.

    Only two?

There were like 5 at one time. They've slowly been Borg'd into one.

The mods are busy today, I reckon

Anyone else notice the published power figures for the 2.8L Duramax? At 181 hp, it's less powerful than the gas 4-cyl offered on the Colorado.

The Holden Colorado makes 191 hp. Gives you an idea of the penalties incurred by the US emissions equipment.

And at 40k for a Pro you still get subpar Tacoma plague issues. But 40k for a ZR2 is too much? Doesn't compute.

Holding value doesn't matter much when the truck doesn't hold together. I'm not sure the Pro is a better buy at 40k than a ZR2, and because nobody looks at a GM and imagines how it'll be at 500k miles we will never know.

Toyota has that going for them, but that doesn't make the Tacoma any bigger than what it is.

Yea, but what, 325 ftlbs/tq? There's inevitably more potential for those who dare to do a diesel particulate filter delete and hack the ecu... that will certainly happen.

It might be the right motor for many people depending on the fuel economy and the tow rating at the end of the day. The truck itself will of course contribute to that cap though.
