That is the GM pricing model and has been forever.

I'm just pointing out that people like to complain about the price without actually pricing it out. Only a fool pays sticker price for a Chevy.

I've never paid sticker for ANY vehicle lol.... Toyota, GMC, Mitsu, Ford, Ram, or Nissan. I have priced out both vehicles (and actually bought one) and I find the SLE Canyon overpriced locally.

The Tundra has a higher sticker than the Silverado just FYI at similar trim levels. The Tundra is over priced and Toyota doesn't move even near to as much as the rest of the full sized manufacturers do. Like I said, you're missing my point anyways so why try discussing this.

Instead, let's ask which truck did you end up buying. The limited Tacoma is a bit of a waste IMHO but I haven't seen what the decked out SLT offers yet.

Not mentioning GM square body pickups that were largely unchanged from 1973-1987.

^Can't be that impressive coming out of a 2.8L engine. :D

^To roll coal, you have to delete the particulate filter and the DEF system, which frees up the normal location for the spare. :p

It would be pretty funny if the flaps on the stack tips stay closed when they rev the engine.

^It was actually a bigger problem with the prev-gen Colorado, which required you to remove the hub to change the brake disc:

Judging by the photo, the new gen's wheel bearing is secured with 4-bolts, similar to the Taco.

It'll be interesting what comes out in the aftermarket for this truck. If it's anything like the last Colorado, then there won't be much support for extreme lifts either performance or height wise.

And that's just fine. If the wife buys one it'll stay stock height since she's 5'2" and hates getting up into my slightly lifted Tacoma anyways.

^There will probably be a King mid-travel coilover kit available soon. No point in letting all the work they did for the ZR2 concept go to waste.

It'll probably be King Suspension's decision. I can't see GM offering $1200 coilovers as "GM performance parts". Hell, Mercedes offers $1200 struts only on the S-class. :D

I had a chance to check out the Colorado/Canyon double cab long bed at the LA Auto show. My impression.... it's ok and good direction GM is going with it. A lot of plastic in the interior. The rear end does sit pretty high and the front end does sit pretty low thanks to that front skirt. I thought the rear seat leg room was a lil cramp compared to the Tacoma and not at a slight recline like the Tacoma. More like church seats. Disappointed the bed didn't have a rail system like the Tacoma. The rear seats don't have storage space in the back, just at the bottom but limited. Fewer cupholders in the back and front compared to the Tacoma. Did like the bed light that came stock. Like the tailgate that has the hydraulic shock built in. Tailgate lock is a plus too :DWe'll see how the sales go after the first year.

well, you can always buy a straight front kit for a toyota(use first gen taco frame mount for rear of front springs) and make a 86-95 toyota p/u/4runner steering box work. my friend did that a couple months after he bought his first colorado. He wants that diesel one and knowing him, it won't stay ifs. none of his chevys did.

that evened out colorado looks pretty alright. It looks a lot better than what it does stock….but I love my toyotas, so I'm here to stay.
