The dash and radio on the new colorado is ugly. also I traded in a colorado to buy my tacoma because the colorado was a POS at 70k miles. very cheap feeling truck and could barely hold my weight on the back of the truck without hitting the bump stops. Not to mention engine issues and little things breaking here and there. My brother had the identical colorado to mine with the same issues. I would never buy a chevy unless it was a full size pickup and I needed the towing capacity. They just cant make a good mid size.

the design is just as good, if not better? There's a lot of similarites to the taco/tundra.
Id wait to comment on the materials used for building the colorado. You never know how fast it really will fall apart on you.

So amongst friends and people I know who buy based on options and whats available at the time….
    -rear seat leg room
    -bed space
-being able to see out the bed(newer ford truck, guy I know complains about blind spots and cant see over bed rail from rear view mirror)
    -power

Im one guy who hopes toyota can bring back a smaller truck, the size of the 95.5-04 tacos.

They will do what they need to, I don't see the new Colorado overcoming the Tacoma but it will pressure the sales. Hopefully we get something newer and more refined than this 2nd gen tacoma. I just feel the interior is really cheap.

You can't really say that these colorados are going to be junk. They might be made better than the 2nd gen for all we know. Then again it would not surprise me if they were garbage.

Lol, another flop that the Tacoma wont have to worry about. They could probably keep selling the same old 2nd gen and still kill chevy.

But seriously, I hope the sales do pressure Toyota to do something cool.

wow, didnt need to read much but from what ive read,, it sounds like the common Chevy.

You think Chevy will build this truck using cheap parts and offer it in the US? Sure.

Collie/Colo is what people seem to call it here in Hawaii.

Looks like there's going to be an off-road version AND a manual gearbox version.

Good to see GM resisted the temptation to make the truck even bigger than the Taco.

If "rear seat delete" had been an option in Taco access cab models, I would've ordered it - no jump seats to take up space and no seat belt buckles to bang around.

    74.3

I suspect the 72.2 - 74.6 is for the Taco/Frontier with and without fender flares... meaning the Colorado is wider.

The new "Collie" has pronounced flares stamped into the fender, so it's fair when compared with the 4WD Taco.

I don't think it's coincidence the new truck is within half an inch of the Taco in all dimensions.

Probably already well known public information, but...
    http://www.toyota.com/support/#!/app/answers/detail/a_id/7807

Is Toyota planning on introducing a diesel-powered vehicle?
Toyota has no plans to introduce a diesel-powered vehicle in the United States in the near future. There are many factors that influence this decision. One is the high cost to produce a diesel engine that would meet government emission standards. Another is the increasing price of diesel fuel versus gasoline. We are, however, aware of consumer interest in a diesel-powered vehicle and will continue to evaluate this option.
