If any of you hve ever driven a Colorado, you'll understand why they're crap. Even the corvette. They all have a crappy cavalier interior. Everything you touch feels like rs about to break off.

What does this have to do with the new one that none of us have driven?

x2. Who knows, the new one might be junk also but, until it comes out, it's all speculation at this point. On paper, it seems like it might actually be a decent competitor. Just because it isn't a Toyota doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be a POS.

Rangers? Their motorcraft's parts are even cheaper than F150 I'd rather go back to f150 if I must

Correct I have replaced 4 u joints and one radiator. It has 198k on the clock. Resale?? I am giving the truck to a kid on my block for free. It owes me nothing. When I bought it in 1999 gas was 99 cents in NJ. Was twenty bucks to fill it. Now its a small fortune. Yes gas mileage is the biggest issue for me.

Tacomas do have a killer resale, but that really doesn't matter to me since I don't plan on getting rid of it.

According to everyone who've sat in the new Colorado (like the Pickuptrucks.Com editor in the video), the new interior is a giant leap over the previous-gen truck, but only manages to bring Chevy on par with Toyota.

I had the opportunity to drive a Chevy Traverse for a week. The "modern GM" interior quality is not as good as the Highlander, but is certainly liveable.

It's funny some people say the Tacoma V6 lacks balls, yet it accelerates faster than every truck offered for sale in the US (including the Hemi V8 Ram), with the exception of the Ford Raptor. Meanwhile the 4-cyl Tacoma guys are eager to defend their trucks as "fast enough" :p. In 2015, drive both the Taco and Colorado and decide, that's the spirit of free-market competition. Keep in mind a few things which are not readily apparent in a test drive:

    1. GM, Ford and Hyundai have been accused of inflating EPA fuel economy numbers on a few vehicles and fudging the real-time MPG display in the vehicle trip computer. See example of Chevy Equinox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevy_Equinox#Debate_about_EPA_fuel_economy_ratings. The Chevy Equinox SUV with the 3.6L LFX V6 gets 18 mpg in real-world use, even though the EPA rates it at 22 city / 32 hwy (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2010-chevrolet-equinox-lt-instrumented-test). The upcoming Colorado will have the same engine and weigh a few hundred pounds more, so expect 16-17 mpg.

The Tacoma's actual fuel economy matches the EPA rating well. I actually get 16 mpg city and 21 mpg hwy. Unfortunately most of my driving is city...

    2. Expect the Colorado to have poor reliability, worse than your Ram. Reliability of the 1st gen Colorado started out quite poor. The truck debuted in the 2004 model year.
JDPower had 3-year reliability survey data starting with the 2006 model year, and rated Colorado at 2-stars: http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Chevrolet/Colorado/2006/Truck/ratings.htm

The Colorado kept the same 2-star rating year after year up until 2009, meaning GM didn't improve the model's reliability for 5 years.

    http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Chevrolet/Colorado/2008/Truck/ratings.htm
    http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Chevrolet/Colorado/2009/Truck/ratings.htm
Reliability improved for 2010 model year:
    http://autos.jdpower.com/research/Chevrolet/Colorado/2010/Truck/ratings.htm

The Australian forum shows a slew of problems with the new-gen global Colorado, which debuted in 2012. The US version will share its Thail-built diesel engine starting in 2016.

IMO, Ford threw away money by not selling a version of the international Ranger in the US. The new Colorado looks boring, but I'm sure a decent number of die-hard GM fans will buy one out of brand loyalty. The interior in the new Colorado looks like a barely updated '97 S-10. Not impressed at all!

This exactly, rode around in a brand new Chevy Malibu, and while the interior is nice and all, it all just feels really "plastic-y".

Agree 100% on the fact that the interiors of new Chevys are greatly improved from older Chevys, but they still are coming just up to par to the interior of some of the newer Toyotas.

If you thought the GM was plasticky, what do you think of our Tacoma's?

I think he likes Toyota plastics better than Chevy plastics.

No joke. The color, texture and flexibility of the plastic, and how well the trim pieces are supported, go a long way to give the impression of quality.

I vanpool in a brand new Chevy Equinox. The interior is certainly better than the current taco. Not sure what the big deal is. It's not like the Taco has a first class interior. People on here will find any reason to hate on a truck that's not a Taco.
