The elusive and unmeasurable improved "throttle response".

I could see your comment being relative if you said unmeasurable horsepower gain but unless you have driven these particular trucks with a cold air intake and hit that sweet spot in the 4k + rpms you wouldn't know about throttle response lol

Let me ask y'all, after installing mine, I'm hearing what sounds akin to a diesel turbo whistle. All my connections are tight, no leaks that I can see. Normal? The gasping/wooshing sound is totally normal. Just never heard this whistle before

may not hear it with the trd intake or cold air intakes with the box still round the filter but the k&n ones you can definitely hear the whistle

I removed my K&N "CAI". My truck is much quieter now. There's a loud "whoop" noise when you mash the pedal in park. Under load it's a really loud noise with rattling sounds mixed in. The first time my truck downshifted and hit 4K plus RPM scared the living shit out of me it was so god damned loud. It was very shortly after I bought the truck and was cruising up a steep road going over a mountain pass. I was not expecting it and I thought something under the hood went wrong.

20k plus miles later I now have a Snorkel and no K&N. I'm happier. My G/F is probably happier about it too because now we can actually talk to each other while driving.

I installed the K&N CAI today on my 2017 trd OR and believe me it is worth every penny! Throttle response, sounds aggressive and mean. Order yourself one, because of all the upgrades I have done so far replacing my intake is the best!
