    Hi guys,

I’m a newbie with car audio stuff but thought I could manage installing a new set of components/tears in my 2015 2nd gen. I followed lots of advice on here and actually put in a new set of component kickers in front and kickers in in the back in about 6 hours.

Well all of a sudden today I noticed my passenger window wouldn’t go down all the way. I took the door off again and realized I drilled into the door and mounted it with 2 screws. I guess one of the screws got in the way of the window arm coming down. Once I removed the crossover my worries went away and the window was working again fine. I put it back up using double sided tape which is kinda cluegy in my opinion. Not secure with the door opening and closing etc.

What’s the best way to mount the crossover without interfering with the window ?

I saw Taco Tunes has some crossover holders I can buy. Is this my best route?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Heck I used double side tape & a bit of hot glue to mount my crossovers but that's cause I mounted mine on my door panel.

Pull That panel off in a couple months and see if everything is still attached. I would add some Hushmat to wires and some Clear Silicone to help keep the crossover on the panel.

You were wondering that too huh? I use a lot of sticky squares at work & they have trouble staying put without screws if you can't put 'em on a flat, clean surface. Pretty install though - nicely done.

I have already a few times already. I hate using hot glue but I only needed a little for one area & the crossover has been pretty solid so far. I hate using silicone to attach things even more. I might add some matting though, we'll see again then.

The last time I used sticky square is for holding armor cables on my lathe & mill, being around oil & dirt they don't last long. The adhesive is only good for clean smooth surfaces & light duty. I replaced the adhesive with that 3M xtreme stuff & they haven't fell off again yet. That's what I did for the door panel wires too. If they have held up on my machines I assume they should be good on my door panels, hopefully.

I bought the Taco Tunes crossover holders and Tweeter holders and it has worked just fine for me. It isn't as pretty as zero4's in the panel build but it gets the job done.
