Being well into my "dotage" I can't remember how I found it but you are certainly welcome. I'm just glad I was able to remember where I put the spare.o_O

I’m thinking the expansion of the metals when driving sealed up your leak when driving home.

In looking back at the paperwork that came with the truck, the PO replaced the timing belt at 129k, along with 'cooling system serviced' at that time. That probably means they cut corners and didn't replace the water pump when they should have. The shop says they hear of that type of leak sometimes - the seals in the WP contract when colder once they age, then expand when the engine warms up, stopping a leak. Once cold again, leak shows up again.

The shop did a pressure test on the cooling system when I brought it in, and the radiator had a small leak also. I had them replace it, too. Another issue - the coolant in the truck when the leak developed was green. I don't know if that contributed to the leak, but maybe. When they serviced everything, they put in the proper pink coolant.

Oh by the way, put the wires into the clips before you put the clips on the cover. Takes a lot of pressure & could easily break the clip.

Well maybe. Or maybe I just don't count so very good.
