I just replaced both my cv axles and while I had everything apart I installed some 1 1/4” spacers on top of my billstein lift springs to level out my truck since I have rear OME leaf springs. When I got everything back together I took it for a lap around the block and I can hear clicking coming from the drivers side CV axle. I made sure they were pressed in all the way with a rubber mallet. Do you think theyre at too much of an angle with the extra 1 1/4”? I included pictures of the new parts and the height of the truck.

You got so much wrong going on.

    1. Don't stack lifts

    2. Don't stack lifts

    And last but not least

    3. Don't stack lifts

The angle is so bad, you're not doing your cv axles any favors by running them in such a way.

Also, crappy store cv axles don't articulate nearly as well as OEM.

    All of them.
Holy hell. Way to much of a angle. Never run spacers on top of aftermarket coilovers.

Okay thanks guys, I’ll pull the spacers back out. Any recommendations for a front end lift kit?

    What?

You have Bilstein 5100s, you're already running one.

Wouldn’t I need something like this to go a little higher? My front end is lower than the back without the 1 1/4” spacers.

If you've recently installed OME Dakar's in the back within the past 2-3 months, your leaf pack is still settling.

Especially if you haven't driven it much.

They start stupidly high, and over time, begin to settle a bit.

That's pretty much the shittiest possible lift. There's a reason my front coilovers alone cost more than that entire lift kit.

What springs are those? Bilstein doesn't make springs, they make shocks. If those are aftermarket list springs, your 5100s should be set to the "stock height" setting.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it also looks like your spring perches are upside down, giving you way more lift than you're supposed to have.

woah woah woah. who said anything about SAS?

It'd really help of you backed up a little and told us what you're trying to do. So far, it just looks like you've made a complete mess out of things, so it's hard to help you correct your mistakes and get you going in the right direction.

What's your intention with the truck, rock crawler? daily driver? Desert runner? Something to park in front of the highschool and sit on the tailgate and pick up chicks?

Unless your extreme rock crawling or need to show off how big your belt buckle is, you don't need SAS. Just a well thought out suspension.

Not a hick or a high schooler, just a 30 something wanting one more inch on the front of my truck. The truck came with upside down perches, broken leaf springs, upside down shocks and all kinds of other stuff that I’ve repaired and changed, I was going to flip the perches while I had everything apart but the spring tool I rented was the wrong kind. I don’t want a sas I was just throwing it out there because I don’t know what my other options are. If it’s too big of a hassle to get the extra inch I’ll probably just take the blocks out, flip the perches and raise them to where they were.

Wait, you've got an OME leaf pack and blocks?

That's combining a lift with a lift all over again lol

Take pictures of all you have currently installed; if you do have blocks, remove them.

Yeah, your truck looks super high, you might even be rivaling a 6" lift (which uses drop brackets for the front diff), which would explain why your CVs are screaming in pain.

You absolutely need to flip those perches, not only is that lifting the front end too much, that's also just not how they were designed to fit.

Best bet is to completely remove everything and start over. Ditch the spacers, ditch the blocks. Who knows what springs those blue things are... I'd take those blue things out, replace with some OME 882's, obviously flip the perches, move the 5100's to the stock 0" setting (let the OME coils do all the lifting). That'll get you roughly ~2.5" over stock.

If that's not enough lift, then you can't just start adding lifts to an existing lift. You need to start from scratch. You can do that Rough Country lift you posted earlier, but as I said, there's a reason my coilovers cost more than that whole lift. Fabtech is probably your best bet for a decent 6" lift.

A well designed 2.5" lift will run circles around most, if not all, 6" lift kits on the market. There's no real reason to go that high, unless you just want the look. And that's find, just don't expect high performance out of those 6" kits.

IFS 4WD shouldn't be lifted more than 2.5" max in the front, otherwise you are going to blow through CV axles constantly. Some say 3" max but I tend to think they probably tear CV boots more than they let on.

The only way you can reliably lift an IFS 4wd higher than that is to install a drop bracket lift.
