New decked

Been wanting one for the two years I’ve owned the truck. Finally got me one. Now on to installing it!

Decked is prolly my favorite addition to my truck. Don't be like me and try to go to town on installing it without carefully reading all of the instructions first.

 

Gonna do an add a leaf to compensate for the weight of the shell and deck system?

That's hilarious timing. I have it in a cart and just tried to sell the idea to my wife and now you post this??? Thank God people are posting pics of their set so that I can show my wife and try to really get her on board.

 

I think my uptop bed rack came with more bolts and parts than this. You got this. Get yourself a few beers, a comfortable chair, and a table to make this little project more enjoyable

Question for owners of decked. Why did you choose decked over something you could build yourself, possibly make it better and spend less on it.

I like the decked system, but there seems to be a lot of wasted space.

 

Looks great I looked at these for a while now too, but just don’t think I can get by with less bed height with my ARE cap. My bed is usually loaded up with tools, but that also includes some taller things.

 

I’m heavily consider switching to a soft top, not only does it weigh pretty much nothing but I gain allot more height back

You might make something slightly more space efficient, but it'd probably weigh a ton more and still not be as sturdy.

 

That and complete lack of knowledge. When most people had shop I had to take religion. Nothing like being an atheist in catholic school. I considered getting a piece of starboard and making an aluminum frame. Or even just wood and some flex seal. But I think it’s easier to have a decked shipped to Home Depot
