So this thread wasn't supposed to be about starting a discussion on the pros and cons?

    hmmm, ok.

So I assume you must have this snorkel, otherwise you'd just be making shit up too, eh?

Not a bad idea actually. truck bed liner even.

I say that if you're going to go cheap, don't half ass it and just get some of those bendy drier vent tubes and some duct tape.

jerry was slang for germans in WWII, and we basically copied their design.

EDIT: I still think it's funnier to say they're named after a dude named Jerry who's supposed to fit inside.

You are correct, it is not a fair comparison. Those headlights are critical electrical components that are used for safety while a tube add on to your engine intake is not.

I wonder if someone tries this product and it fits and works as described will there be a new cult following :)

Would knockoff Jerry cans be a concern too? Dare I say I am a fan of Harbor Freight :)

kind of hard to mess up a jerry can, just make sure it's EPA or CARB approved if you live in a state that cares (like CA).

The Harbor Freight ones are only ~$5 cheaper than most others so I'm sure they're the same quality

I didn’t know Jerry cans had to be CARB approved in CA. Sounds pretty serious. Learn something new everyday :)

yeah it has to do with the design of the pouring spout, so that it doesn't release excessive gas fumes into the air...sort of like how gas pumps are designed a certain way to avoid that.

I emailed the seller and there is a 90 day warranty. So not much of one, but good enough I guess for the short term in case in breaks in that period of time.

It's not if you don't attempt to use said snorkel for its intended purpose.

For maybe some cleaner air on the trails behind a group and that mall crawler status :)

Nice @m3bassman. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out.

I’m still trying to understand why the ARB is over $400. When it first came out wasn’t it under $300? Still, it’s plastic tubes with some hardware.

Your intake it located inside the fender well. Have you actually taken a look at where the air comes in? It's a pretty sealed off location as is.
