This seller I believe has 2 accounts, both JDM in the name and both show same location. When I purchased, it was from this one:

    upload_2019-1-24_22-9-56.jpg

The other one, which was the one who went back in stock today and sold 13 before showing out of stock ---

Hit the fuck it button, ordered before the price gets much higher, still need a stock air box though.

I have a stock air intake for a 95-98 if anyone’s looking though.

Anyone with install experience: is it absolutely necessary to remove the fender flare?

I was looking and I’m not sure, you have to remove the bolts to remove the splash shield. I know I’m going to try to install it without removing the flare, but I ordered new clips for the flares just in case.

yeah you need to remove the flare, if I remember right the flare has to come off in order to take off the inside fender liner.

Has anyone gone through a car wash? And did any water get in? E14A738D-3AD7-4A51-BD6E-F5472C8151CF.jpg

I haven't gone through one but I drove through the crazy ass rain we had here a couple weeks ago on the highway, the snorkel does a really good job of pushing the water out through the little vents around the bottom of the head. Some water gets all the way through but stays at the bottom of the air box in front of the filter, I don't mean a lot just a little bit. Anything else gets trapped by the air filter and the airflow dries it out really quickly. Worst I've had happen was bombing through some mud pits and sending big sheets of muddy water right into the snorkel head, that ruined one of my air filters lol. For that kind of stuff you might want to turn the head around.

Overall it's not something to worry about...I do those hand wash car washing stations and I've sprayed the snorkel with the hose and it doesn't cause any issues.

I'm too paranoid to go through those auto wash stations with my roof rack and bed rack/tent, don't want the brushed getting snagged on anything

agreed, you absolutely have to remove the flare to get to the splash/wheel well liner. I mean you probably could remove the liner but why risk damaging anything as a result.

There are parts of the fender which have funky 'clips' that kind of snap into the fender and then when you seat the liner and the flare over it, the screws go back into this 'clip'. Looks like this (#5)

    upload_2019-1-25_16-23-38.jpg

Just remove the flares. Order the clips from Amazon, well worth it. Enough to remove the other flares and gives you an excuse to clean them/paint them lol.

    No car washes!

Don't want to risk a heavy impact to the snorkel and who knows what that will do to your a-pillar! :goingcrazy:

Glad you pulled the trigger before they went out of stock! Cant wait to see the truck with it installed.

I usually go through the touchfree car wash so it’s just high pressure.
