    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Whole bunch of people assuming the $99 snorkle is "cheap" and uses "inferior" material to make it that way.

Maybe the $99 snorkle isn't "cheap"... maybe the $400 snorkle is just overpriced because people like to throw boat loads of money at shit that says ARB on it.

Harbor Freight is good for a lot of things. I have an air tank and a few other items that are really great. You can't beat $25 for a 125psi tank. The crappiest thing on it was the included air line and valve, which I didn't plan to use anyway.

I would say that the other thing with the above comparison is that at least with cheap-o lights, you are not required to drill a giant hole in your fender, so you really can't go back to "stock". So if you're unhappy with the product, you pretty much HAVE to go get the ARB (as if there's another major brand out there), and then it's unknown if the hole you drilled for the cheap one is the same that's necessary for the ARB.

No doubt that could absolutely be the case. There's a lot of people out there with perfectly clean and unused rotopax and maxtrax, mostly on 3rd gens, lol.

My sarcasm not withstanding, I think what I'm more skeptical of, though, is just the fact that it's being sold by a semi anonymous Ebay seller from a chinese manufacturer who obviously has never installed it on the vehicle they say it's intended for (hence the photoshop job).

I think I'd be more willing to give it the benefit of doubt if it were being sold by a reputable retailer.

It's cool others are willing to give it a shot, but even if I were in the market for a snorkel, I'd rather put my $99 towards beer. Even if the thing only cost $12, if I have to drill a giant hole in my fender, I'd want to be damn sure it's legit before I spend even that $12 on it...

I wish those retro fitted lights were cheap. If you buy them fitted already it’s $500-$700+. I’ll make that snorkel work if I’m cutting into my fender. Even then I’m sure I can replace my fender for less than those lights. Or it would give me an excuse to go aftermarket:)

Great minds think a like buddy :)

hey that used to be my joke

I actually saw that once online somewhere a few years ago...haven't been able to find the photo since. Some redneck with a huge mudding truck had his intake routed to the A/C lol

I have the legit ARB snorkel on mine. (traded my stock fender for his fender+snorkel and $75 cash, theres no way i would pay $450)

I'll try and convince my brother to get this so we can do a side by side.

Well I’m gonna be watching this. I have absolutely no need of a snorkel but have always kinda liked the look of them on the 1st gens

Cool, I wasn't aware of this new model

Edit: I just read through the thread. Some of y'all need to take a chill pill. It's a plastic tube for air to move through FFS. Who cares what type of plastic it's made out of or how it affects the value of your vehicle? Yeah the fit and finish may not be ideal and you might have to modify it, but you get what you pay for! I don't understand why some people just have to try to complain about everything. At the end of the day, just go to a junk yard and buy a new fender if you really screw it up. /rant

If the eBay one fits as good as the other popular option, I’m sold. I’ll be your fan @m3bassman lol and I’m sure there will be a cult following. So far it’s looking good on the quality comparison.

Really glad it worked out and it looks great :)

I’ll include the photos in the first thread for people who are interested but don’t want to go through the pages.

I’ve had the watefusi one on for years, no issue. No breakdown from sunlight, it’s taken several whacks from branches, etc, no issues related to what others stated as their concerns.

The inner rubber tube did collapse as others stated, I just lined it with sheet metal, all good.

If this thing was out when I bought the watefusi (I paid ~$140) I’d have gotten this one, looks like better quality, easier fitment at a lower price tag.

For those that consider this, it is cheap insurance. My plastic fender liners weren’t doing much at keeping dust out since they were cut back around the pinch welds and up front after a high clearance bumper. I would clog air filters and foul my maf sensor frequently when following people on dusty trails, so that alone was worth the cost not having to do trailside maintenance

Weird Q, but can you post a pic of the tube routing from inside the fender? I want to see if I still have enough space for my electric antenna.

This show's the antenna when I did this "snorkel":

I have it on a switch so I can put it up or down when I go wheeling.

Switch is swapped to an OTRATTW one now but you get the idea:

I feel exactly the same. My watefusi has been just fine, but I would have done this one had it been available.

Some people on a different forum were really talking down the watofusi snorkel on points similar to the first few pages of this thread. I haven’t experienced any of those issues with mine so I guess the build quality is very inconsistent.
