So I'm new to TW, this is my first post. I have a fairly new 2015 DCSB sport 4x4. It's my first truck that I plan on modifying and I can't decide on which lift I should do. I drive mostly highways but have a tendency to try and find new trails during the weekends.

I've read around a bit but can't decide which lift route to go. I'm stuck between 3 options:

    1. Go for a basic bilstein 5100 and aal
    2. Icon stage 3
    3. All pro long travel

I'm moving soon so I plan on wheelin a lot more but I don't want to get in over my head with anything. Also, with the long travel I would have to save a little more if I go that route.

Just looking for some sound advice thanks

    Yes sir
Those all have very different prices...... I'd go old man emu for $1000-$1200. Billies are like $500, stage 3 is like $3k I believe, and long travel... well that's another category.

A ton of guys including myself have OME and love it, excellent quality and price.

You know how many people say that and end up fully armored with lift tires winch and what not? It's like lets play just the tip, and it never ends up just the tip

Bilstein/Icon 2" suspension lift with wheelers 5 leaf springs, 7-pin relocate through bumper, bfg KO2s, redline hood struts, immryo mirror relocation, stubby antenna, dipped emblem, heated mirrors, Jason trek cap, led fogs, debadged
A popular option is the billies set to zero with OME lift springs. That'll give you a better ride than preloaded 5100s and not break the bank like your other options will. As soon as I've got a few bucks laying around, I'll be going that route. OME offers springs for 1, 2, and 3 inch lifts (884,885,887 respectively)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure 99% of this site was a weekend warrior who thought "hey, I'll add some stuff to make my truck look cool, no big deal!" Now I'm over here having to explain to my wife how the fuck the mods on my truck cost the same as her entire car.

OP, do you want the look, or the performance? Because one's gonna be cheap, and the other, well...

As other's have said, your budget will dictate what you can do. There's kind of a disconnect when someone asks, "Should I get Bilstein 5100's? Or go full long travel?" That's like, "Should I get a Honda Civic for commuting, or a Bugatti Veyron for the Nurburgring?"

I have about 6k but that doesn't include the wheels and tires I also plan on buying after the suspension set up.

I understand the huge difference in price but judging from what everyone is saying the money is going to get spent anyways so...

    Go big now? lol

I just got myself lifted, went 5100's all around, 885 springs up front, and an AAL out back. ALso did add a 1" block to the back because she was near level, I like some rake. Also got new LR UCAs to ensure great alignment and driveability. I got like 2.75" up front, and about 3-1/2 out back. All that ran me like $1050, shipped and front shocks / coils assembled. Very happy with the results, drives very similar to the OEM TRD OR stock setup, maybe a tad more stiff up front, not really even noticeable though. If you do a full deaver rear leaf pack in lieu of the AAL, add like $400 or so.
