New drip molding clip

    Hello, everyone. I recently purchased drip molding for my 2018 access cab Tacoma. Apparently, a newer version of the drip molding requires a different clip to help resolve the issue of them flying off. I went to my local body shop for the install and they jammed the new clip into the existing one. Is the new clip designed to attach into the previous version? The previous clip seems to be metal.

    Piss poor design. Best bet is to 3M two-sided tape in place. Every Toyota/Lexus I've had in shop, did this to it.
