I would expect a NA 2.7 and a turbo 2.7 to be the options for the 4th gen. I wouldn't expect to see a hybrid option until mid cycle of the 4th gen. Ford will probably have a flying BE F150 around then.

My last three vehicles have been turbo . Turbo engine vehicles are lots of fun but reason why I’m in a 2021 3.5 SR5 Tacoma is of course reliability of Toyota but scared away of turbo issues in the future. Almost of manufactures have already committed to electric vehicles in the near future hopefully my Tacoma can surpass that time. Maybe forth generation is a hybrid

Why would toyota undertake the cost of a new model when they can't keep the 3rd gens on the lot now, even with big dealer mark ups. There are no new tacoma's on my dealers lot and only 1 used 3rd gen SR5 DCSB. Last new one I saw was a 2021 SR DCSB with a lift and wheels/tires kit. Listed for 39k and must have sold.
