Can you keep it running with the accelerator?
Have you made sure everything is connected properly and there are no vacuum leaks?

If there is one, also make sure there are no leaks in the intake elbow downstream of the MAF or in the TB gasket. I don't have a 2.7L in my Tacoma but I ran into this exact issue before on a Z28 after I swapped the cam. The intake boot was cocked a bit on the throttle body and letting in unmeasured air. Thing wouldn't idle and I had to keep the throttle down a bit to keep it running, super rough even then.

I can keep it running with the maf backwards or unplugged with accelerator but other then that it dies out.

My first thought was a vacuum leak, which amounts to the same thing.

Is the MAF sensor new? Is this a new engine or a used engine? I also second the vacuum leak suggestions as well.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Not sure but start engine, hold throttle open for 3 minutes (not allowing throttle to close). Then Idle throttle closed for 3 minutes. Repeat above 3x to reset the idle?

You likely have a wiring issue.
The p0102 is for low voltage at the MAF.

Check pin #1 for battery voltage.
It should be a blue/white wire

Have you tried using the MAF from the old engine just to compare?

Since your getting a MAF code along with an IAT code I'd suspect a bad ground at the MAF sensor (Pin 5 Brown), have you double checked that all the ground wires (the ground wires at the attachment points are White/Black) are reattached?

Either your connected it in upside down or replace your MAF I did both and fixed my problem. If you still have that code check your wire, or could be a faulty MAF which is what happened to mine. I had to buy another one.[/QUOTE]
