No wings, no winch... super easy. Did mine in @crashngiggles driveway with the winch.
Added the wings after by myself. That was more interesting.

I'm sure you know this I think you go out there more often

Keep an eye on the birds.

They're usually pretty good about keeping this map up to date on closures. Once those plovers hit, the whole shebang is red for months.

Looks like he can install it on Tuesday. I'm probably more concerned he know what do do with the light bar.

    From the article:
"The 2025 Toyota Stout is expected to cost somewhere between $29,999 and $37,999, depending on which version you go for.

Toyota wants to make sure it’s priced right to compete with other trucks like the 2024 Rivian R1T, 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X, Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, GMC Canyon, and Chevrolet Colorado"

When I started reading, it sounded like it was aimed at the Ford Maverick or that Hyundai Santa Cruz, if they're looking to compete with the Canyon and Colorado, the Tacoma already does that. If it is going to compete with the Colorado and Canyon, I'd bet it's not going to be sold in the US, especially since they're talking about a 4 cylinder powerplant from the Rav4.

The bird situation really sucks. Last year I had a season pass and went Memorial Day Weekend then never again. By the time it reopened we were either too busy with kids sports or the weather sucked. Looks like there is already only a tiny bit of beach open.

Except it’s smaller. And won’t need a big power plant

I thought the Stout was supposed to be a compact truck to compete against the Maverick which starts at $23K. Why would it try to compete against an $80K Rivian? o_O Who wrote that article?

It might not be for the plovers at the moment. Or it could be. I dunno.

A couple years back the whole map was red because a plane overshot the runway and landed on the access road to the ranger station, so nobody could go to check in

I laugh only because the only casualties were some broken bones from passengers jumping out of the plane after it came to a stop, no fatalities and only wrists/ankles.

It has a bed thus it has to compete with it.

    I guess.

What's the new overseas landcruiser 70 or something like that, with a bed? Saw an article of a couple of them in CO. I thought that's what this was getting at, maybe a rework on those to get them into spec for the North American markets.

If it's smaller, it's not competing with the Canyon or Colorado. It's going head to head with the Maverick which has half the price tag. I'd take that article with a grain of salt though, seems like a LOT of speculation and/or mis-information. We'll see if/when it actually comes out. If it's a 2025 model, I'd expect someone to have spy photos of it out and about by now.

The current closures are probably due to erosion at the point. Not sure about the whole backside beach though. The bird fencing was already getting installed at another Cape beach I was at two weeks ago. It seems to get earlier and earlier.

I agree, I didn’t know anything about it until my son texted asking what I knew. I love the idea of a small yota pickup again.

As long as the pigtail is accessible, could always wire it later. That's what I did.

Yeah the ends are pretty narrow.

if I only go twice this year, I’m ok with gambling $50 that I will get a third shot. I luckily don’t have kids so most weekends can be an opportunity

Yeah it’s still a good deal at $150. One decent dinner costs that much these days.

It’s certainly up there, along with a demo saw and a chain saw.
